Calls: Mark Caminiti called in from BV where he’s enjoying some chicken! And Barry Ritchey called in from up above BV. He recaps his ride from yesterday.

Wow, great pics, thanks.
Scott M (or others) - what is a good weather/radar site to look at and see what conditions the racers are facing? Thanks.

I do love Rolling Pass. And HDR Ditto on Rolling Pass - I was bummed to ride up and over it last year in the dark. It was pitch black up there with no moon which made for some interesting descending!

TruthRider - On the trackleaders page ( http://trackleaders.com/ctr) you can click on the 'Map Layers' label and then check the 'Current Radar' layer.

Ah, the mark of a truly talented photographer - an HDR-like photo without the computer tricks. Good work! My bad. I have to use HDR sometimes.
Back to the race...

Since people are in a picture sharing type of mood..... Ethan is just about here: Mainly I just wanted an excuse to post the "awkward business man" photo that the bro and I took at sunrise above Bolam Pass last year.

Today, I'm not sure my boss likes the CTR as much as I do.
Fascinated by EP, JB, and JJ's race. Sorry, Mrs. J, but I'm not sure that Jesse can catch them - but it's mind blowing to see all three of them so far ahead of Max. It sure is fun watching. Man do I hope there's an actual race tonight.

That's a great rainbow picture, very nice catch. It makes dealing with the rain a little easier when you see sights like that. I think it's cool that the race followers can see snapshots of what the riders are seeing. Ed

Man, what a good race Ethan, Jefe and Jesse are having! Both times I've done the CTR, I've ridden from Silverton to Durango pretty much right next to Jefe. Both times, neither of us had slept the night before, and both times, it took us ~20 hours. If Jefe and Ethan can keep up their pace even though they haven't slept, they will do this section in well under 20 hours. Both are within striking distance of sub-4 days. F'ing incredible! But wait-a-minute!! Here comes Jesse with an extra night's sleep under his belt! Currently (5pm Thurs) Ethan is tracking 5 hours in front of Jesse's present location. Jesse has closed by ~1 hour since Carson Saddle. That is still a huge lead, but I can't overstate how slow and hard those miles can be without sleep. I remember trading off leads with Jefe and it feeling like we were killing it with a XC-race pace. But alas, turns out we were barely crawling... The course from Molas to Dgo has been covered in < 10 hours during Ian Altman's CT Jamboree. So, if it takes Ethan and Jefe 16ish, and Jesse can pull off an 11ish... Oooooh-weee!! A three-way nailbiter!
