Also, since I missed it, I would love to ride the Silverton to Durango section sometime in September...if the weather is still good.  Any suggestions on how to get a ride to Silverton?  If anyone wants to join me then please let me know!

I might be up for it!

Looks like Max will seal up 4th place as long as nothing happens!  Proud of my brother, knowing how much he has put into training for this race over the summer and how badly it felt for him to only make it halfway last year.  Go Max!  And go everyone else out there, you are my heros!

Or maybe someone else found it and they crossed paths.

I would guess this -- maybe Kurt or Fred brought it to her?  Would be totally awesome of them to do such a thing.  We didn't change anything on the TL end, so it's her SPOT back up and running!

Unfortunately it's currently telling us she missed a turn and descended a bit down the wrong forest road.  IIRC, there are some easy to miss turns in that section.

Pulling for her to knock out an all nighter and finish a super fast ride.  Go CAT!

PS - thanks for the amazing photos, Ed.  Yo' blog is gone, but at least we get to see some pics here.

Totally loving the 4-7 race.  Go Max go, they're coming for you!

Cat's blood > tiger blood.

Ed, your continuing stream of pics are awesome, thanks.   Ridevintage, yours are great too.

I know what it's like to take 9+ days to finish.  I have BIG UPS to all those very strong souls who are fighting on, stretched from BV to Silverton.  Jason Osborne, you go.  Wendy Skean, keep it up!

Hello Everyone.
Jefe here with quick update. So just before hitting the DH to Taylor Lake/Kenebec Pass, I find one Ethan curled up next to his bike. Apparently his sleep deprived brain(no sleep from marshall pass) decided to get some rest among the scree and wind of Indian Trail Ridge, oh he sent his bivy stuff home in Silverton. I got him to walk his bike down and then ride down Kenebec. We stopped again. Ethan wanted more sleep, I offered food, my bivy, he denied both. EP turned off his light, I turned and hit it downhill. I hit Junction TH at 5:38am. I slept about 3.5-4 hours the whole race. It was not a good choice, but it worked. Owen's pace always seemed impossible to me, but having met Owen and the guy is 100% for real. I studied his splits carefully while preparing for this years race. With the strong early push from JJ, EP it seemed more and more a possibllity to go sub 4. I have never suffered so much, but I just had to try, dig deep I did and it messed me up. Anything is possible but be careful what you wish for...I believed sub 4 was possible, I just didn't think by me...ahh man it hurts

Jenny and Eddie, I smiled every chance I got...thanks for the reminder

I got to hang out with JJ and EP after the race, good times, good guys...we talked about much, including weather sleep depravity is worth it?

Thanks Owen for crushing the CTR in 2009 and inspiring me look harder at the course and try go under
.
I am fall asleep doing everything today, seriously cooked, head nodding etc, it is plain weird what it can do to your brain.

Be Good! Jefe

Thanks for taking the time, Jefe.  Amazing to hear the race-induced grogginess in your (written) voice.  Makes it all more real somehow. You and everyone out there make me glad to be alive.  Go, Wendy!

Come on Cat!  She's got about four and a half hours if she's going to break the record.  Definitely possible from her current location above the Stagecoach trail, but in all reality - given her certain level of exhaustion - it would be amazing if she pulled it off.  Either way she'll have a fast finish time.

Kurt is making his way up Blackhawk Pass right now.  That one hurts at the end of this race.  Looking for him to finish this afternoon...

The big mystery right now for me is Fred Hankinson.  From experience I know he's strong.  He was riding with Kurt up until last night sometime.  Currently his tracker is next to Cat's, but hasn't been updated in the last 5+ hours.  I wonder if he decided to make a run for the finish last night?  Wouldn't be surprised if he was on the descent to Junction right now...

Looks like the hubby is going to be faster than the wifey this year. Does this mean I don't have to cut him any more slack on long rides any more? Wink for a boy who was sick the last two weeks, CM is zooming!

Go Cat go! If I didn't have to work today, I'd be glued to the phone all morning.

Brad Fuller called in to say he’s heading into Salida to get some food and re-assess the situation. He’s not officially scratching yet!

Way to push the boundaries Jefe. Glad you're safely back from such an endeavor. Remember those tame 100 mile rides?

This is JJ heading down off Indian Ridge towards Taylor Lake. We were in the midst of a violent storm and ended up hiking the bikes all the way down which was a shame.

I can't seem to catch anyone on Indian Ridge proper so I can post some Indian Ridge images - everyone goes through in the middle of the night :-)

Anyone know what is going on with Nick Patzer?  He seems to have wandered around near Jarosa Mesa last night and maybe headed to Lake City?

He just called from Lake City and is pulling out. He said he doesn't have many calories left and wasn't sure about heading further with not enough food. I'll post it shortly.

Becky Sears just messaged to say that power is out in Silverton. A bit of a disappointment for those there to refuel...
