The riders out there inspired me to buy a bike this year. My CTR is a Cozy Tame Race, but it's more fun than a bucket of monkeys. Thanks for the motivation!

Kind of worried about Michelle DuLieu this morning. She's going SO slowly and camping up very high. Did she pack enough food to stay up there that long? Does anyone know if she's OK?

it would take a lot of food to make it to silverton at that rate. even making it from water point to water point at that pace might be hard. I'm with you in being a little concerned. That's a bad place to be stuck with storms too. |

Does anyone know if Apple The Trail Angle definately moved his camp down to Cochetopa Park? If so is it near the Cochetopa Waypoint (start of wilderness detour) .
I have visions of my friend Paul Bosworth consuming some great soup and orange soda at Apple's camp right now.

The only issue here is that she's still 50 some odd miles from shelter where she can figure her stuff out.
I'm rooting for her to finish it. She's probably in WAY over her head...but those make the best adventures if you can survive them.

Yeah, I hadn't even thought of water. There's nothing to drink up there for miles. If I lived in Durango, I'd be inclined to ride up and check on her. |

Yeah, she's probably going to be fine. But she was shooting for ten days, not 25-40--which suggests that she may not have planned to spend so many days on one of the driest, highest, and most exposed sections of the trail. Carrying that much water and food would be really tough! Considering the circumstances, I don't think that there's anything wrong with being a bit concerned... |

Hi...new here...my brother is in this race so I am lurking. This gal is just about to a spot that has water most of the time. I ride this trail often from Hotel Draw to the top of the first Indian Trail summit and back. I, too will watch. Was thinking of riding the Blackhawk loop on Thursday anyway.
Anyone know about Bill Shands? Icon is stuck at top of Hotel Draw. Assume it is a malfunction. He is a friend of my bro so I am concerned.

As someone with more than a little experience in the middle, ok, at the back of the pack, I can tell you that we are working just as hard and suffering just as much as those at the front who are killing it! We're all doing our own race, that's what makes it great! And I LOVE the fact that she has a whole bunch of caring eyes watching her blue dot. This is what I love about this sport. |
