Hey Everyone,

Second, Toby Gadd was nice enough to give me his "Distances and Services" sheet referenced in his blog. I have reversed the course, checked the mileage against the new CT Databook with the new detours, and got permission from Toby to share it here.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Auo-YhxH18-ddDlQU1hQTHhVeW9CU05mZHU2dUYxTlE#gid=0

Thanks for the spreadsheet!  One thing i'm curious of is the Conoco in Copper - Google has it listed as "This place has closed or relocated."  Can anyone confirm or deny that?

I was just there today and it is definitely open. The posted hours are Mon-Thurs 7-7; Fri-Sun 7-8.

+ 1 for the CTR, no SPOT

Also, looking for any creative/convoluted rideshare options from Fort Collins to Durango for myself and my girlfriend (also doing the race). Ideally, we would leave around 8am on Saturday 7/20 to get there in time to relax before the race. We're also willing to leave Friday night if that works better for you.

Option 1: Drive my 5sp manual Subaru Forester. We have room for you AND your designated driver to get my car back to Fort Collins. Your designated driver can rally it all over SW Colorado for up to two weeks as long as they bring it back to Fort Collins.

Option 2: Are you already driving your vehicle to Durango? We'll pay for ALL your gas to Durango and buy you some good beer (to be consumed after the drive) if you let us tag along.

Option 3: Are you, or someone you love, in Durango but want to be in Fort Collins? Drive my car back to Fort Collins.

I am leaving from Steamboat Springs Friday noonish. Maybe a possibility.

It is so awesome to see everyone contributing to the CTF this go around and proudly posting about their contributions here! Keep 'em coming! Just so ya'll know, as organizer of the race, I did the same. $250 + a corporate match from my employer, Ball Aerospace. I am really looking forward to meeting you all (again in some cases) and I am super stoked to be able to actually partake in the riding this year too! Coming up quick - time to start stocking up on sleep somehow...

I've been following this thread from it's start, and I guess it's time to come out of the shadows. I can't wait for Sunday. I made my contribution to the CTF. As an out-of-stater I haven't been able to do any trail work, but anytime you all are out on our great Utah trails, we've done plenty of work here. Can't wait to spend some quality time in the high country! Looks like mother nature has been creating some hero dirt just in time. See you Sunday icon_biggrin

Great to hear that you'll be out there this year Stefan. With all of the effort that you've put into this race over they years, you deserve everything that the CTR has to offer--beautiful sunrises, high mountain passes, and a few moments of soul-searching exhaustion! Have fun and ride fast. I'm looking forward to watching your dot.

Anyone else starting Thursday or Friday from Durango?

My plan was to sleep ALL Saturday - day and night and wake up 3:00am Sunday, to drive to the start. That was before I was told that there was going to be a huge, neighborhood music festival going on, and the main stage was on the other side of the picket fence. Whoops. Plan B...

Just got a one way rental (Rav-4 "or similar" haha) from Denver to Durango. I pick it up Wednesday morning, am heading to Boulder for a few hours and then am driving to Durango Wednesday afternoon. If anyone is on the way and needs a ride I can prob fit one more (I will be running late so can't go far out of the way to pick anyone up). No bike rack, so will need to take your bike apart to fit it inside the car with the seats down, but I bet we could figure something out. PM me if interested.

Depending on the weather I will either just get started on the trail Wednesday night right after arrival, or super early Thursday morning.

That actually sounds really good right now... Unfortunately, I think we can both agree that 7 hours into the ride, the only food we'll be craving is anything we're not carrying  icon_biggrin.

Donated money to CTF, but missed the message box to highlight biking.  Getting on the plane tomorrow from VT and ready for some suffering.  Psyched to ride again this year and looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing old ones again.

Yummy. Put some chocolate on top and you have a winner.

Delicious.

I haven't signed up yet on Trackleaders. I'm working on some, perhaps, "surprises" for the race with Salvagetti. And I'm making sure I have money to cover food (at LEAST) for the +/- 6 days I'm out there.

Just finished a northbound trip in 10 days thanks to the weather. Three half days due to storms.  Unable to do 22/23 due to fires and no 7 thanks to weather. The storms were coming in early afternoon- 1 to 2 pm with a mix of hail and rain with lots of lightening going all night long to 5 am. Made for some greased conditions. Difficult even to HAB with that much wetness.

Only saw 3 other thrubikers. I'll try to get up some pics up to get you guys psyched for kennebec, Indian ridge and sargents. FYI kennebec and Indian ridge and blackhawk in our first day made for about 5.5 hours of HAB! Rolling took another hour but was surprisingly rideable. Sargents however. .you know, was balanced by fooses.

Ooh yeah- lots of all female groups of thruhikers near collegiates was a bonus. They should be near silverton for the ctr nono
