Let's keep it as is (Tarryall detour) for the moment, and I'll try to get in touch with someone from Kirkland construction to see if the closure would affect bicycles the same as cars.

When I read the part about the construction delays on the website, it indicated that the (up to) 40 minute delays (May 28 to Aug 30) was 7 days a week but the part right before that mentions a complete road closure on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 am to 4pm (I think it means that the road will be closed 3 days a week during those times for the entire duration of the construction project, including during the CTR - please correct me if I misread it). Unless I read that wrong, that means for the CTR starting on Sunday, anyone trying to finish in 3-5 days will hit a closed road (at least if they hit it from 10 am to 4 pm).

I think it's all speculation at this point. I think Stefan has the right idea to contact kirkland construction and see what is really going on and how this could affect us. for all we know, it could be something that won't even affect someone who just wants to ride around the road crew on a mountain bike.... or it could be something where they won't let us anywhere near that section of the road at any point. no sense in trying to make a decision without all the facts

As far as I know, Stefan hasn't decided whether or not the construction work will affect the CTR. The "current" GPX file, which was based on the route from last year which does NOT include Tarryall. Once Stefan makes the call, I'll either update it to Tarryall or leave it as is, depending on what he decides. I'm hoping that Tarryall is included, of course, but not if there are going to be insane construction delays or mandatory pilot car rides.

Do you have to reverse the GPX somehow when you download it or is the current version on the CTR site already south to north. I have the original north to south from prior rides but figured somehow we would have to reverse it this year.

For all intents and purposes, the track is simply a line that will show on your screen regardless of what direction you intend to ride. Just follow it.

In the end this will be the route. This is a logical way around Lost Creek.Great riding and classic scenery. Seven miles of extra singletrack. It could also be described as crappy.

To Matt H's post regarding finding FSR 211, you probably won't have any problem finding FSR 211 if you are riding eastbound. However, I rode the bypass westbound last summer and got confused picking up the CT off of CR 39 at the end of the 285 bypass. There are lots of earlier turn-offs without much signage.
I was riding it without a GPX of the bypass. If Toby posts the GPX of the bypass, it probably won't be a problem

Yep, I'll post an updated GPX once Stefan determines whether the planned construction will be an issue or not.
