Me too! I'm getting on a plane from Australia in about 36 hours, and still haven't sorted that bit out. Getting tempted to get a bus as close as I can on Thursday, then ride from there. I am also looking for a ride fromBoulder/Denver. I can leave either Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. Happy to pay for gas.

I'm still figuring things out myself so I may be interested. I'm holding off while I try to decide if I should start with everybody else or start earlier and ITT it.

Addy,
Good to hear another Canadian is here to join me! For Durango Lodging try Days End or Adobe Inn. Both about as cheap as they get for mid summer in Durango and a short 5 min pedal to the start.
Thanks for the rec's Jesse, sorted. Getting super stoked. Sea level to 13000+ feet that'll be fun!

Well my yo yo attempt is dead. I had new bags and my bike seemed dialed. I did not change chainring from Tour Divide though- thought it would not matter -it was my downfall - 32t killed me right on the first climb even.
I also have some personal issues going on, but gearing just had me walking a lot.
Gonna source a 28t or 30t SRAM chainring and get dialed in for grand depart. The yo yo on the backside is still available:)

Wow. That new Bustang service does open up a lot of possibilities on the front range and the I70 corridor. I didn't see any racks in the pictures? Are they on the front? How many do you think it would hold?
Yes! It is quite awesome. Two racks on the front, and plenty of room below to store bikes/gear, just like some of the regional buses (the Denver -> Boulder bus, for example). Used it last week, so it's not a mirage Power outlets by your feet, LOTS of room inside, the wifi in the I-70 corridor is a little crummy, as it needs a cell signal, which is not always that dependable, because: mountains. I slept like a baby on my ride back from Frisco (helps I spent the night on the side of the bike path, on a tiling pile!), it was glorious. I'm most likely going to use it next week again. Best bus I've ever taken, anywhere. Most likely, when the service gets more popular, they'll put more seats in, at the cost of leg room. When I transferred to the regular, regional bus in Denver, to go to boulder, the seats were comically close together - maybe 8 inches from the edge of one seat, to the back of another. Maybe less.

Hi, I'm coming in from Toronto on Wednesday and staying near Beuna Vista until Saturday. I'd be happy to give someone a ride from or around there in Saturday. PM me if you're interested.

Update! Chris Joyce is in Sargents. I hope that's good news. Wonder what's going on with the Spots.
[Chris JoIce, btw ] .....it was indeed, good news! after an ugly first two days, i went out on my own for Sargents>Denver. the beginning parts were very muddy and slow going (30mi/day), and the hail-storms didn't help progress much, either! we ran low on food and got pretty frustrated before arranging a pickup down cascade road. BETA for others.... water is plentiful, trail should dry up and shape up, some trees down, but nothing too bad. as a rookie, i learned an aweful lot the first leg of my journey. extra food is crucial for physical and mental well-being. upping my hydration was also key to adjusting to elevation and exposure. and the wet weather was mostly a mental hurdle, but i learned to use my rain gear often and to it's fullest potential (i.e. put it on, leave it on, and tho wet, at least i'd be warm). second go on the trail was most excellent, and though i wasn't fast (6days sargents>denver), i had an excellent time and enjoyed myself 95% of the time! lots of hiking (SS), but that seems to be the name of the game for most. i found trail conditions to be good, re-supplies to be reasonable (NOTE: Tarryall Store has limited hours on Tuesday.... he's a good dude and came down to open for me late on tuesday). thanks to all the volunteers on the CT... we met a wonderful pair who helped greatly on our second day of the first leg. without them, our bail-out would've been laden with significant issues for us and our rendevous vehicle. best luck to all who are going out for the official CTR, and whether you are "racing" or just going for the experience, you will have a great time if you come well prepared and flexible. ride on!

Ya I was hoping some names would start popping up on trackleaders since there doesn't appear to be any ITTs but they prob want to keep it a mystery until race day. Anyone riding a fat bike? Anyone wearing a wetsuit?

I feel there will be a new course record this year.....With this stacked lineup and the lingering effect of the new TD 2015 record....There will be some fast times.....its gonna be so good!!!!!

I wonder if they will drive each other into DNF via pushing too hard. This will be interesting to see how long they can all red line without popping.

Any interest in a pre-race gathering at Carvers again? Say 7pm? I could hand out rental SPOTs there, otherwise it will have to be at 3am before the start...

I have secured a truck in Denver for a 11am or so departure on Friday. $170 + fuel split 4-5 ways depending on how comfortable you wanna be. I have talked to a few people but hard to keep track. Best to email me at bigportions@gmail.com if you need a ride. I think I have room for 1 or 2 more right now. Mick I got your spot secured. Thanks

Stefan, I signed up and paid my private spot but it never asked for my ESN or shared page URL. I sent an email to Scott which bumped me to Matthew Lee so I sent it to him too. Can you help?

Yes! having a chance to trash talk each other while wide awake before the event is important!

Same thing happened to me, Matthew took care of it. If you sent him your esn and shared page you're probably good to go -
