Man am I feeling bad about not being able to get out this year, I had plans on it but had an issue on one of my
long training rides and still not sure what happened to me but till I figure it out or know I'm fine I better wait it out. But on the good side I'm way ahead on my training for next year.
Everyone be safe and have fun, during the tough times remember its way better than being at work.

Is that Vietnam Monument visible from the trail in Sargent's?

Just barely, but you really have to be looking in the correct place. It was about a 5-7 minute hike off the trail for me from where I stopped and I could see it the whole way (at least the stone walls). I had a waypoint in my GPS for it. Sent a pic to Dad (vet) who appreciated the effort. The local lore says that some local guy who was a chopper pilot in 'Nam flew the supplies up there stealth and put it together...do a google search. If the war over there means anything to you, I highly recommend finding that memorial...

Well I'm out for the Grand Depart. I got hit by a car on my good rig and the bike is completely trashed. I had hoped to put something together just to ride during the race, but I'm just not going to be able to put it together in time. I got a bit behind with work.

I am planning on a Denver to Durango ITT somewhere around Aug 20th just to post something for this year. I'd like to stick around for that Durango race put on by Velorution.

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy GD!

Good its the bike that took brunt of the damage & not your body.
We need to combine one of these events with a winter biathlon type target shoot. Bikers with scoped rifles on there backs might get a Tad more respect on the roads.

Just FYI for the racers: We'll have a gift pack for the racer caller drawing for the CTR too, as with the other races this year. So call in at least once! 888-866-4491. I didn't get stickers sent out in time, my bad. Most are familiar with the number from past races, I hope. There'll be ProGold lube items, a SOL Bivvy, and other items in the pack. 1 call you're in, the more the better your chances! Be safe!

Does anyone else see the weirdness with the trackleaders page? It seems like all the CTR racers have been replaced with Transcontinental racers. I just want to make sure I'm not the only one seeing that.

Looks fine to me. Which is good because although I'd love to ride the tcr again, I totally brought the wrong bike for it.

The track's looking like it's in awesome condition, I just rode up to Dry Creek junction, and back down... something else. It was great! Can't wait for the morning now.

Also, don't forget to bring 4 AAA lithium batteries for your SPOT!  Most of them have battteries already but I'm not sure how fresh they are.  Best to change them out fresh, or carry the 4 extras.

If anyone found some Smith lenses (and my chamois lube) on the ground in Segment 14, let me know. You can keep the chamois lube as a thank-you.

Wish I could help Jens, good luck.  Congrats on the finish and thanks for the campfire at Carson Saddle, big morale booster for me.
