Re: Matt's post on stalkers...

A couple of years ago, I started touring the CT from the opposite direction of the racers.  I ran into Matt on daybreak Day 4.  He was sprawled out on the ground, eating, and bit stunned from riding all night.  But he was very friendly and nice.

10 minutes or so at the Silverton Grocery and Jesse is off again. I guess that's how these guys do it so fast, minimal stoppage time. Impressive as always.

He's got an epic climb coming his way

What a beautiful night for a high alpine adventure! Moon, calm (in Gunnison anyway). Hope they are having as much fun as imagine.

Yeah, this one looks to be all Jesse's. Big lead which will just get bigger as he is on the detour and cruising on dirt roads...while Jefe, Kurt and Sam still have some decent miles left on Seg 22 before they hit the highway at Spring Creek Pass.

Long sleep for Jay P last night

He's approx. half way through that 50 mile detour...but he does have a nice little climb up Los Pinos Pass before descending down toward the Cochetopa Hills and Dome lakes area where he picks the CT back up near Lujan creek.

Wow! Blazing start by JJ, looks like he managed a 2 hour nap before leaving Hwy149.

Hoping it's just a SPOT issue, but Kaitlyn hasn't updated in over 8 hours....same with Hunter Keating & his name isn't on the panel of riders anymore?? (But his dot is still out there) Anyone heard from either of them?

All right, the chase pack has reached Spring Creek Pass - let's see how much of that ridiculous gap they can close!

I'm super impressed with Jesse's start too, but he is about to hit the time-suck of Sargeants so the chase will definitely close some gap. I don't think he has quite escaped yet.

Jesse just passed where I spent my third night in 2013. hahahaha

Of the two, Jesse and Jefe, who can take the sleep deprivation factor to another level?  Jefe seems to be really doing a great job of closing the gap to JJ.....This appears to be evolving into something very very interesting!!!!

Kurt really seems to be struggling - ever since Cathedral. Wonder if everything is all right. He has dropped back significantly and has been moving real slow.

JJ and JB can both take the sleep dep to new levels. Would be great to watch another showdown between those two. But Sam K. is holding his own up there with Jefe...

and lest we forget, Matt Schiff is somewhere out there all spotless and shit. Jesse's lead may not be as big as it seems.

JJ is burning it up!  Anyone able to compare JJ's current pace to Jefe's winning/record pace in 2013?
