If this is you, I would highly recommend considering an ITT this year. Reports I'm getting back are that the CT is already 95% clear of snow and will likely be completely clear before the end of June. Man, if I were planning on racing it this year, I'd be keeping an eye on the weather for a 5-day stable forecast, and then going for it.
Of course, there is something to be said for the motivation behind having other people of a like mindset to race against - the whole reason the CTR was started in the first place. But, whether you are looking to challenge the course record, or are just out to fast tour the course, I highly recommend putting some serious thought into this option - it really has the potential to maximize your enjoyment of traversing the Colorado high country!
