Getting to Durango (the first time!) is the easy part.  Getting to the start in Denver with bike and gear, leaving vehicle in Durango - not so easy.

What shuttle logistics are you using?  If anyone's got room in a vehicle to get me & bike to Denver for the start I've got cash for gas & dinner occasion14

So little chatter about this event!  Does everyone have it all figured out now that it's in it's 3rd year?  Anyone waking up in cold sweats thinking about Cataract ridge??

No - But I've weighed that trash bag about 17 times.  It's still 8 ounces lighter than my poncho.

I'm not much help with shuttling from Durango I don't think but any CTR racers that need a place to crash in Denver are welcome at Casa Plesko whether we are here or not. I think we will be here and should be able to help shuttle to the race start too.

Anyone thinking they might need a place to crash just let me know.

Ummm sort of...  just gonna try and hit it in the am...  maybe all the monsoon stuff hit us of the divide this year and maybe we well have good weather on the CT?

at least that what i'm hoping....  only dry race ride i've had this year was in iowa  BangHead

The airport looks like a nice shuttle back to SFO to me  headbang

Seriously, I have a flight late into Day 6 already booked from the Durango airport.  Only cost $140 including tax.  The only bad part is that I'll need to finish in 6d8h so I get myself off the trail, my bike to a shop to be shipped back to SF, (hopefully) into some non-cycling clothes, and finally to my flight.

Dave,

I may be able to help ya out. The plan (as of now) is for my brother to pick me up in Durango and drive me to Denver where my roommate will then pick me up. Assuming I finish within a week or two of you, you're welcome to hitch a ride back.

Thanks - but I'm talking about a ride from Durango to Denver before the race.

Is it really just 3 weeks from now???

I'm looking to carpool from Tucson to Denver, as of now it looks like I'll roll out of Tucson on the night of 7/30  in a rental car. Then all I need to do is make it to the start on Sunday and then pedal on over to Durango to get another rental car and be back home by 8/12
 well that sounds easy enough
Guess I should make sure I can rent a car in Durango?

Right here on a whim I have decided to leave my car in Durango and ride home, or the entire ct from there.
I am in need of a 'vacation`and cat ridge sounds better on day 2.5
It`s a frybrid, 82 rabbit diesel, 40 hp. With one person it works pretty good, a bit slow. I have plenty of grease.
The last day of July you can drive it to Denver.

I'll offer up some space too...i'm coming from Asheville, NC and will be staying at the Marriott Townesuites about 6 miles from the start on Saturday night.  I'd be happy to let a couple people crash with me....I think its one of those bedroom and pull out couch kinda places.  just a short ride in the a.m to open the legs up....i guess.

also...probably renting a car in Durango and heading to Denver after a couple days of down time.  Also happy to let someone jump in with me if that works. I'm hoping for a finish mid 7 day...if it goes better...so be it...if it goes slower...i'll blame the elevation..i'm in no real hurry afterwards...so if that may work...i can wait around a bit...let me know and you can jump in with me.

looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing some beautiful country...first time in CO...what a way to do it.
