Great ride Steve. Way to take a chunk of time out of the course record. Rest up.

Outstanding, way to crush the route! I was hoping somebody would break the 2 day barrier this year. I think you just set a mark that is going to be tough to top...

Previous best was 49 hours and change. Your time was ~ 38 hours. Jaw dropped.

I'm looking forward to hearing about the adventure when you've stopped sleeping and eating ice cream Wink

Big congrats Steve. 3rd time really is a charm.

Congrats to Steve for such a strong ride  headbang

Things are looking good for me getting out there later this week for a Friday morning start.  I have not decided on the 200 or Lite yet.  It is just a matter of how much time I can sneak away from work. Driving time there and back eats up a good amount of time.  I will put myself on the trackleaders map either way.  I don't know how well I will perform at this altitude.  I am a beach dwelling surfer, so getting much above 8K feet on a bike can be hit or miss for me.  I did fine on the Coconino Loop, but that was a bit lower in elevation.

Just a few last questions:

-Any surprises or lessons learned this year?
-Is Tod's Country Store the first resupply point?  FYI I just called them and  he said their store hours are 7 to 8.
-There was mention of a place to get a burrito before the Paungsaugunt climb.  I don't see this in the waypoints.  What mile is this restaurant at?
-Anyone know what time Harolds place restaurant opens?  I tried calling them, but no answer.
-Looks like there is a general store at panguitch lake. FYI I just called them and their store hours are 7 to 8 weekdays, 7 to 9 weekends.
-Any food after that? Some burger place?
-I don't see any resupply in the Dixie Lite waypoints, so I assume they are the same as for the Dixie 200.

I think I am good to go!

Cool glad you get to have some Dixie fun.

Surprises: would it be fair to share? I wouldn't want to diminish your experience out there Wink I'll just say this: be careful on the south end of the Paunsaugunt.

Tod's is the first reliable resupply. There used to be a general store at navajo but it was up for sale, not sure it's current status.

Burritos are from Tod's.

Burger Barn in Panguitch lake is open.

The Dixie Lite also goes through Hatch, so you have one more on-route resupply.

Keep in mind this route is short enough you can do it all with no resupplies. Nothing beats a cold drink after you finish the VRRT though!

Have a great ride and let us know how it goes!

Wow!  What a ride.  The Dixie 200 route has something for everyone.

Sorry to hear about Josh.  It is treacherous on the south end especially at night.  Be careful.

I had good legs the whole way.  And did not have any GI problems.  I ate three hamburgers on the route. 2 from Tod's and one at the Burger Barn in Panguitch Lake.  Also had a good mind and did not get into the dumps or have negative thoughts. I did laugh at Dave H for putting the route together and myself for doing it, a couple of times and at the King CG I was hoping someone left a large plate of bacon on a picnic table unguarded.

I did "fall apart" a little after the Pole Canyon HAB at about 14hrs so I took a 3hr dirt nap and then rode 21hrs more.

I drank a ton of water and drink mix.  When you refill and think you have enough, add a few more ounces.

Do not expect for resupply from the stores on Hiway 12.  I asked a lady coming out of Harold's if it was open and she sneered at me and said NO!  There is a soda machine and some ice cream at the trinket shop down from Harold's.

It is great a great route crossing some amazing country.  It is very difficult.  I am happy to have finished and am stoked about my time.  Will I do it again?  YES!  I am already looking at ways of going lighter and faster next year.

Thanks again Dave

Congrats on a great ride Steve. It was fun to watch your dot fly through the route. Glad to hear you loved the remoteness and the rustic nature of the trails. Dixie 200 is not to be underestimated!!

At first glance it looks like Erin went for the Pink Cliffs overlook - that would be the first time for anyone in the event. Usually by the time you get to that turn off you want down not up Wink Alas, I think it's a wayward spot point looking at the times and that the point is just over the cliff. Looks like he's had a great day on my favorite part of the route, caught it all in daylight.

Still taking steps one at a time while plotting my revenge. I will ITT this fall after Point to Point. I want to see the rest of the route.

I'm in the same boat. Tried a ride on thursday but still a fair amount of pain. I guess our ride next sunday will be pretty mellow. I might go for the ITT myself in the fall if I have time.
Erin is looking strong!

Strong work Erin! Great, steady ride. You rocked the Paunsaugunt, first time through - no small feat. Last I saw before going off the grid it looked like you were going to enjoy a sunrise Thunder Mountain treat for your labors...

Did anyone get pictures this year? I'd dig seeing some pics and hearing more about everyone's ride. If you've blogged it please post the link!

I'm just back from 5 days off the grid in Yosemite, I'll post up some final stats later. Great work all, It was fun to meet everyone at the start.
