In regards to the start time, it is currently Friday June 19 7 am. extra redundancy so as to be clear....We can start at any time you like. My preference is to vote on the start time Thursday eve in camp just so those not following along here don't miss it.

How does that sound?

Good idea.  Is camp at Second Left Hand Canyon on #143?

Hey all,

I'm in.  Don't know how many of us will partake in the adventure but it will be a good one.  I look forward to the challenge and meeting some of you.  thumbsup

See you in a week.

Just waiting on final approval for the time off and I'll be in. Looking forward to the full route this year. I can probably pull off an early start if someone makes coffee.

I would suspect there may be a number of people like myself who will arrive very late Thursday and possibly miss any campfire discussion about start time.  It would suck to miss an early start time because of that.  I am fine with starting earlier but it might be best, if that is what people want, to publish a new start time now so there are no last minute surprises for those arriving late.  Surely with most people registering on TL it would be possible to contact folks now to let them know.  I fully expect to be back the pack and not see anyone once the ride starts, but it would be nice to at least meet other riders at the start.

Good point evdog. Let's stick with the 7am start. We've already changed the start date once and I'd really be disappointed if anyone missed the group because of a late change.

Keep in mind we are just talking about the group start here - anyone can start earlier and go ITT mode if that seems a better plan.

The camp area, and start - is roughly 1/4 mile up 2nd Lefthand canyon from 143. Cross the creek and then look for open camp areas next to the creek shortly after the crossing.

We used to start right at 143, but that meant riding through a creek in the first few minutes so I got soft and moved the start/finish 1/4 mile Wink

FYI I'll be up there this weekend to see how conditions are looking. It was a very mild winter followed by a very wet spring. Water should be no problem. There may even be some lingering snow in the highest spots, I'll find out Sunday.

Dave,

Thanks for the water and time report and for contacting Scott for the spots.  I will be arriving around 9pm and will greet some of you if you are up in the camp areas.  If not I'll greet you in the morning after some coffee.  I just love a spot of Joe before a long ride.  We have had an unusually wet early June here in Flagstaff.  I'm hoping for some dry hard packed conditions.

I sprained my wrist last weekend on stupid downhill obstacle that I though I could make nono  but....  I am still in, it should heal by Friday I would think.  Leaving so cal by around noon, so should get to camp by 7 or 8 with some beers in the cooler.  I am good with any starting time.  I would probably need to start at 5 am to make it to the gas station before closing.

Was just thinking the same thing - after all this rain this spring (like a jungle around here, never seen it so green and lush in the foothills), some hot desert weather's gonna feel pretty nice!

But it wasn't me who jinxed it...for the record icon_biggrin

See ya'll Thurs night

Any idea when we'll see the tracker page up on Trackleaders? I'm sure those guys are swamped with TD...

I'm heading down to the Dixie from SLC with a friend. We plan on leaving Thursday after work and need to be back at work Monday morning. If that works for you let me know.

Any weather updates for the weekend of the race? I am packed and ready, but I am not packed for adverse weather. Would rather know from those who know before I get in a car and start driving.

Micheal.... I mean Robotfury.  Read above.  Weather report looks perfect.  I was actually hoping for slight chance of Thunderstorms to keep things interesting, but it looks like nothing but sunshine.  If anything, it might be a little toasty at the lower elevations.  I am not going to bring much in terms of cold weather gear.  Just a light jacket.    Hows your cold?  Feeling better today?
