Scott or 750 racers. I will be doing the 750 starting from the Utah border tomorrow morning. I will start at 7am sharp. May be kind of slow heading up that first steep uphill. Looks like I will have a truck at the finish, Utah border. If any other racers need a ride back to Flagstaff after your race and can find me on route I could give you my key. I live in Flagstaff so I'd need my truck left there. I have a ride arranged at the end. My cell number is 928 525-6088. Limit calls please. My tracker has not arrived yet. I talked to Matt yesterday and it should arrive before I leave town. I'm still in, tracker or not. I will be making periodic calls to my girlfriend and my daughter. Maybe a couple calls on the podcast too. Wishing all a good ride. Brad M

Please call in, Brad, yep! Trackers should be coming in the mail today, including yours.
Enjoy that hike and the cool weather while it lasts. It's going to be a hot one down here for those going north!

SPOTs are here, and everyone renting is showing up on the tracker at mi casa.
Anyone waiting to pick one up here can cruise by. Otherwise, see you at Parker!
Remember you need 4xAAA lithium batts. I'll have spares sets of semi-used in case anyone forgets.

That's a nice looking starting lineup!!! Some real speed demons in that group, gonna be fun to watch. I'm real curious to see how everyone deals with the heat this year, it's a real burner up here in the PHX today. Should be plenty of water available, stay hydrated out there!!

Just got a report from the Freeman water cache -- there was only 5 gallons! The water is going fast out there.
It was replenished with 14 gallons, so now has 19. But I would not stake my life on their being lots of water! Thru-hikers can easily take a couple gallons each, and probably every racer in front of you will take at least a gallon. Don't show up there dry!

Start time for the 750 is 7am at the border -- where the GPX starts.
In past years it has been 6:30, but it is 7am from here on out. Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks Joe. I definitely encourage 750 riders to call in once a day. I'll have stickers with the call-in number at Parker Lake.
Joe, trackleaders can throw in a couple free tracker rentals or private tracker adds for a bikepack race, for the raffle. Sounds like a great idea to hear more from the racers.
Sounds great, Scott I'll send you an email and get some deets. Sorry for the late response, just getting in from a long day!

Scott & AZTR riders, I'm still planning a small group ride from Freeman Rd. on Sat. & will drop more water for the AZT users. As Scott mentioned, don't COUNT on it.

And they're off. Forty seven strong with a third headed to the big ditch. High temperature in the 90's for Tucson today -- ouch. http://trackleaders.com/aztr14

Any thoughts on a new thread to follow the race or do we carry on with this one?

Attention: If you lost a GPS unit on the AZT 300 or AZT 750; I have found it and will return it to you. Please reply with a good description of unit and features.
If you know anyone that is bummed they lost their GPS unit, have them reply to me and we can make contact.
Saturday April 12, while riding south of Interstate I-10, I met a man on the trail that was racing in the AZT 750. That is how I found out the name of the race. After doing a little internet searching I found this site, forum, and thread.
I thought I'd register and try to find the owner of the GPS unit. Plus I want to give a shout out to all the riders. You are Inspiring and Amazing. Let's RIDE!!!!!

Hello Matt. Yes Tim and others who have given me advice on this thread are your go-to. I may be able to help after April, if all goes something near to plan. I got a .gpx file of the BCT detour from Tim, and merged it with the 2013 AZTR route .gpx file to come up with my route. Also, Tim and Mark have ridden it since and had their route tracked with the Coconino Stage Race. Here is the link on Trackleaders [http://trackleaders.com/coconino13i.php?name=Tim_McCabe___Mark_Caminiti][/url]
Your route looks sound. Do you have the .gpx? Is there a way to download it from track leaders? Thanks. Anybody else have .gpx for connecting the AZT to BCT? to Phoenix. Thanks, Kevin
