Just saw Gabe, Brad, and Joe off this morning from Durango.  Met them at Durango Diner and rode the pavement up to the trailhead... they were, of course, in high spirits.  They're hoping to meet those of us beginning in Denver on Sunday night at the campground.  Let the games begin!

Good luck, guys! I hope that the skies are clear and the trail is dry for you.

A group of 3 of us are leaving from the Denver side tomorrow evening.  We're on the general Colorado Trail tracking page as we're not ITT'ing it.  We have 2 drops.  One in Leadville and one that is hidden in the woods!  Should be good fun!

Okay, I have no idea what's going on with this group.  They all had SPOT trackers, but from the very beginning only Brad's showed up on Trackleaders.  As of yesterday evening, Brad's is now back in Durango... not sure if the other three are with him or if they're still on the trail, but with malfunctioning/disabled SPOTs.  I'm confused.

Getting the spot into track mode is pretty easy, but pretty easy to mess up. Once you are out there you may think it's working but unless they have a smart phone and bother to look they will never know. At some point they'll check in with some one and figure it out.

Blue dot watching is fun but still unpredictable. It's frustrating when you have people set to follow you and then your not there. Forgetting to reset every 24 hours has caused several riders to disappear from races here in AZ.

Sorry guys, this was my bad.  A few people were live, but two of the three were goofed up, preventing them from getting new data.  I've got them showing now.

And sometimes it's Scott's fault. Thanks for clearing things up. And now back to the blue dots.

No problem Scott!  Thanks for all your hard work.  I'll be registering for a rental unit for the CTR today.

Hey, I'm trying to follow these guys, but I can't seem to find the "general Colorado Trail" tracking page. I'm probably just being dense, so can someone help me out? Thanks!

Saw Joe on the Crest Trail on Wed. He seemed to be in good spirits and was enjoying the ride.
Looking forward to heading out Monday.

There's a foward ITT on the trail now too, started on Wednesday, and about to run into Joe up on Searle/Kokomo.

SEction 22 and 23 are the worst things ever invented.  Getting caught just below 13k on a ridge with a HUGE storm overhead was not fun.

I love it.  We should be done Monday sometime.  Taking a day off in Silverton to dry out!

Im Done! What a ride! Ups and Downs... I wiped my butt with the section 17 page out of my tech book. Weather was pretty good overall.  Mostly dry up until after the La Garita detour through Buena Vista, where I was jumping under the tarp every few hours.  Then dry all the way to the barn.  Trail is in bad shape up section 2 (washed out runnels ect.) and section 17 trail was like riding up/down a steep riverbed full of hail and rain.  I wanted to quit.  Thinking of my wife got me through that.

Brad Nelson, who started with Gabe and I 8am Friday 22nd at Junction Creek, broke his foot on the first day.  Feel for him.

The San Juan sections were stellar.  Love that mountain range.

Thanks for sending us off Joey! Good luck to everyone tomorrow and throughout!
