Got an email from Spot today with Free unit promo when you register. Pretty sweet deal if you're looking for one for your adventures.

Are you sure if was for a SPOT 3? I know my buddy and myself both got emails for a free SPOT TRACE, not the regular SPOT tracker.
EDIT: I'm completely wrong. They just sent another email today with the deal above. That's awesome! Too bad I already have one but this would be great for those sitting on the fence.

Yeah I wish this offer was sent to me during my prep for last years Great Divide ride. This thing is great for anybody that heads out by themselves for any adventure.

Is this offer just for current spot owners? I didn't see it on the website.

It's for everyone, here is the rebate form. To get the rebate you have to pay for a service plan, so you can't just get a free spot and wait to activate until later just FYI

So if you have an existing service plan it looks like you can upgrade your unit and still qualify for the rebate. I think... Having read the rebate form I'm not so sure now. Anyone upgraded to a Gen3?

You don't get $$ back. You get a visa debit card. Which is sort of like getting $$ back. But they don't credit you the $$ back direct.

You account gear like I do. Bought it and got a rebate = ok to spend the rebate $$.
