Getting home from Hayward, WI at the end of Trans Wisconsin

I was looking into the logistics, getting to the starting line is no problem with it being only 60 miles from an Amtrak station in Winona, WI. However I haven't found any good escape methods from Hayward, WI.

I guess 130 miles isn't to bad back to St. Paul. But after putting it all out there I doubt I'm going to want to bike that.

I'd say the chances of catching a ride are pretty good but I know from last year that once you're out there keeping in contact with other riders is pretty hard. Given the race is quite a bit shorter most people will come in in 2 or 4 days. Should improve the ride share odds, but who knows.

As per the new format... mixed emotions. Definitely FAR more accessible which will hopefully make it more popular.

But at 420 miles it might break it down to a sub 48 hour race for the winners. I'll miss the longer venue, but again.. I couldn't afford the week off needed to get to and accomplish the longer venue anyway.

Anyway, I was originally planning on "denying" myself this race, but I'm not sure I can. It's just to great an opportunity. Like an itch that won't go away.
