This year's group start is on Saturday. There's a couple of Americans coming over for it: Michelle Dulieu and Ron Thomson.

Wasn’t sure which flag Ron was going to race under. Heard the only thing the airlines didn’t lose was his bike and he had to scramble to collect enough gear to start!

I scratched early on - a combination of heat, vomiting, cramps and mechanicals. Currently just shy of 25% of the group start have scratched, heat has been a major factor in many of these though one rider abandoned due to being attacked by a cow!
