Hey James... thanks man. Just got through packing my bike, etc. I also just sent you a PM since I didn't see David's email. Oh... an addendum... if possible, lighter is better. I started off with Sapim CX-Rays... but beggars can't be choosers.

@Michael
I read this a little bit late, because I am quite busy to pack the entire stuff together for the race.
Just for a backup – I have got a complete dynamo hubed front wheel with a SON 28 and 9mm standard axle on an American Classic rim. I built it up for the TD last year but decided in the end to keep the things more simple and went with researchable batteries. So the wheel is more or less new and unused. The drawback – never tested. It runs with a Rocket Ron with no sidewall protection at all and is set up as a tubeless ready system. In the case of the cases you just need to chance the tire and line in an inner tube.
I’ll travel on Thursday by car to Tyndrum and will arrive in the evening (hopefully, if I will manage driving on the wrong side of the road  icon_biggrin). I’ll stay in the Tyndrum Inn. I also pack the pole shoes for the dynamo hub and some wiring. If anything will go wrong with your wheel built up this would be a possible fall back solution. But in this case –You better not finishing in front of me  Wink

Kind regards

Michael

Apparently I am to be the harbinger of scratches - I think AlanG will be sending you all my contact details to pop me a text if you scratch - which I'll send onto Trackleaders.

I'll also post updates here - so if you want to give me a why4, updates and images I can pop it up to add some context for those following the race.

Light northerlies forecast all next week varying between NE and NW. Should be OK for staggering back to tyndrum. no epic rain forecast as yet just showers improving into next week. Lots of rain today in the NW so plenty of water under the wheels I suspect

Help: driving to the train station this morning my bike partially fell off the bike rack. Could have been worse, but I've written off a Jones H-bar. On train anyway, but is there anyone in/ near Glasgow with one of the same I could buy or borrow please?

Thanks!

Best I can offer is a standard handlebar. I'll chuck it in the car this afternoon just in case you have no other choice.

Flat or Riser?

Apparently there is a traffic accident near Loch Lomand so anyone travelling up be aware - AlanG has been sat in traffic for an hour :/

Phil s seems to have 180 miles or so done with 4 hours stoppage? That's a heck of a ride 24 hrs in...
