Obviously in for the 200. Probably rigid SS.  There's no reason, and I'm certainly not going to tell anyone, that they can't do it with a bivouac. I just conceived of the route as a way to push the bounds of what's doable in 24 hours. |

Of course I'll be back - it's my backyard and a bitchin' course to boot. The only remaining questions are what bike, what distance, and with or without the other half of 2-epic....
I do like the 3AM start. So much more civilized than midnight.

Maybe some sort of seal attached to folk's sleeping gear. Following a finish line check, they can be heckled or championed accordingly. |

Just sub the equivalent weight in coco-espresso beans.

I'll go with obviously in for the 200, as well. How can I pass up a chance to ride hours of AZT in the dark? So are those miles of AZT still closed due to the fire? |

My news is a year old at this point, but the conversations I had with district ranger Kevin Larkin seemed to indicate that erosion, trail destruction (the AZT is unrecognizeable for at least one 1/2 mile stretch), and danger of falling snags would keep it closed for quite some time. He didn't have a concrete idea in to when it might reopen.

The sublime road has some killer views on it, make sure to schedule a stop to view the North Rim, Mr. Epic, did you ride singlespeed last year?

SS was perfect last year. 32.19 29er. That was the first long ride on that bike. More views! OK like there was any doubt I'd do the 200 |

As I told Dave C, I'm in. I'm doing the Marshall maneuver, I'm taking off Friday morning to HOPEFULLY be back about the time you guys roll in.
Some treats for Sat night, hope your gluten free diet doesn't include dairy Dave H.
Quick question, forecast calls for lows in the 40s and highs in the 60-70 for Jacob Lake, does that sound right? Will the temperature vary much from that if they're correct? Ah, the questions of "one of them 'ferners."
