I'm so sorry to hear this. Mike's cycling feats have been a huge inspiration to so many of us. He will forever be remembered as one of the greatest athletes of our time.

I have posted this video a few other places, but I wanted to share it here. I met Mike briefly in person at the start of TD 2013, and he was a delight to be around. But this video is the impression I have of Mike in my mind. It is my personal, inspirational memory of him. As a community member: open, honest, generous, and humble enough to share this moment. I never met Mike (although I saw him at the premiere of Inspired to Ride in Golden) and I'm a lesser person because of it. This news is very sad, indeed. I can only join in, telling you how heartbroken I am that someone of such talent has been lost to us. I only have positive memories of this wonderful individual.

I get what you're saying and agree, but completely understand why they did. Stirring tribute by Kristoff posted on twitter. Hall was the first pro endurance cyclist I knew about. My first exposure to this kind of event was watching Inspired To Ride. Amazing! Hall will live on as a huge inspiration to all of us who aspire and attempt to do what many consider to be impossible with a bicycle. Remember him when your legs are numb and it feels like you're pedaling a 2 tonne bike into hurricane force winds. Remember him and keep going, stay strong and smile. You got this! Thanks Mike! We hardly knew you. |
