There's still a mass start, tomorrow morning. Yellow dots are ITT, meaning they chose to start at their own time. The majority are starting tomorrow.

Good beer drinking weather for those guys gathering in AW tonight. Supposed to be 95 degrees and gusty winds for them tommorrow. Might as well get the sunburn, chapped lips, and dryed out nose going first day out. But dry feet will be nice.

Tomorrow morning should be fun to watch the mass blue dot attack on the TD. One final requirement for this year: in honor of Dave B. - all those riders relying on GPS are required to find one GeoCache in each map section, during the race.

A lot of time I've spent here on the forum to read all the posts regarding the TD. A hard job even in armchair position. I've got a lot of tips and motivition for my 2013 TD attempt.
Many thanks to all the volunteers who keep these amazing event alive. I appreciate your engangement very much.
I wish áll the brave riders of this year TD the best and a save trip!!
Kind regards from Germany
Michael
P.S. Anybody here who has an idea how to convince my wife for my 2013 attempt??

The Wife-aspect seems to be the hardest challenge during the preparation period of the TD ... If you have got a solution please post it to the forum!
I´m working on the same question for more than four years ...
Cheers

I am not pretty sure, if it works and if there is a correlation between these events:
Tomorrow (06/11/2011) I will get married to my companion and I got the O.K. for participating TD 2012 exactly one year later (06/10/2012).

For the wife... I had little work to convince mine for 013, if your partner isn't into it, it will likely be a tough sell regardless.
For bikes though, I have found that acquiring them can be tough, so I usually talk about getting a motorcycle...

Getting the race-permit before the marriage seems to be not the worst tactic

So, now that we're in an arm chair discussion forum... who's gonna win the SB crown? Maybe it will be good, to keep an eye on Aiden Harding. First overall-winner on SSP?

Danica hey? Trackleaders.com? Working on it, in the meantime, go to td.org: http://tourdivide.org/leaderboardStill up there.

Hope everyone has a safe, fantastic race. I'm making plans for a 2013 attempt, with my wife's backing.

quick question if I may (long time lurker here, hello!). Is there a singlespeed race within the race, or will ss'ers not be differentiated with regards to finishing rankings & times etc. Cheers.

Looks like a couple guys couldn't wait for the Grand depart this morning... Can't tell when they left. JT is way down on West Spray Rd riding with MA who had an ITT start scheduled yesterday. Seems if you say your going on Grand depart day, you should leave with the group.

Hi all, Anxious Mrs here of rookie sobo Blackhound. What time are they actually setting off? I thought it was 7am but nothing seems to be happening on leaderboard. Thanks Re getting permission to follow your dreams - put yourself in your partner's shoes / pedals - what would it take for you to be happy for them to be 'unavailable' for a few weeks, would you be happy to look after children/pets/house/yourself? Would you expect a favour in return for permission? Personally I was happy for him to go, no favours required - but I am perfect!
