Hey all. Man, you guys have up-to-the-minute commentary going here! Jefe, Ethan, Dave Bruno, Eddie Clark, and I are enjoying some fantastic hospitality at the Brush Mtn Lodge before heading up into the snow on Sand Mountain.

Jefe can't think of anything to say because he is fried (but happy).

Ethan is highly caffeinated (to say the least), so I don't dare ask him for any comments to post.

Dave ate enough food that he claims he's 4 months pregnant.

Alright...that's all for now. We should probably be riding instead of having a party.

Thanks for the update ... we're LOVING this stuff !!!

You guys are AWESOME.

Dave Goldberg called in as he was leaving Pinedale. He recommends the Rivera to those coming through!

Back in the pack update: Looks like Dlyan Taylor has a 30 minute break on the rest of the group that has been stuck together since Lima.

Golden Spike at Brush Mtn Lodge--wow 5 riders there
Fitting that one of them is an ITT'er from New England with the initials Dave B.

Been following their every move for the last 3 hours or so - they should have met N and S- thumbsup so these cabins on the the satellite pic is Mt Brush or so Lodge. Would like to be there! Keep going riders - it's most insteresting to follow your tracks and motivates me to get out riding my Rocky Mountain Element even in the rain and mud, we currently enjoy around my place in Europe.

Here's a pic of the big event!!!!
...South meets North right here at Brush Mountain!!! (:
Dave Bruno had already headed out toward FSR 42...

Everyone looks great...Paul gave the rest of 'em a fairly good report about Sand Mountain...(Watershed Divide on the maps) 6 or 7 miles of snow to hike through...but he was in great spirits...

All the SoBos were in looking great too...
Fed and full of coffee, they're out....!

Now i'm off to do dishes!

Anyone know what frame Jefe is riding? Looks like an El Mariachi steel.
you got it. Me and Rick wern't sure but i think he might have a black sheep ti fork. And he is running 32x19.

Wow, all 3 are back together in the front. If all keep riding strong, I don't think we will see another break attempt till we get well into New Mexico. Anyone got the camera ready in AW for the sprint Wink jk, I couldn't see them sprinting at the end. We might have a 3 way tie for 1st. Thats how you do it

ps..Awesome pics of the GS!!!!

Revelate and the USPS messed up his custom bag order and he is riding with the infamous seat rack and likely carrying 7-10 lbs of rack system.
Gack!  When I first started mountain biking I tried exactly one ride with one of those wretched racks.  I couldn't wait for the ride to be over to get it off the bike.   I'd like to add that with record numbers of divide racers, Eric at Revelate has probably been doing a mini-divide of his own at the sewing machine to get everyone's bags out.  He's always been up-front about how long bag orders can take, provided excellent customer service, and produced a superior quality product.  '12 divide racers might want to consider their orders sooner than later!  I hope your guy gets to the PO in time to get his bags.  The divide will seem a few hundred miles shorter with the reworked bike!

The 3 Colorado boys are on home turf. Pretty wild they are at the Lodge at the same time for the Dave Blumenthal Golden Spike Party. Been fun to watch them take turns sneaking past each other to take the lead for the entire race. I'm sure Kristin fed them all some nice fresh fruit and lemonade before she even started cooking them a meal.

Dave Bruno has found his stride. Good to see him handing with the leaders. And Paul. He's got a motor.

Whoa. The Dave B tracker was kind of a sucker punch. And I only met the guy a few times here in VT.

A beer for you Dave, and Godspeed.

Riders, stay safe. Have fun. And make sure you take care of those loved ones when you return.

Kirsten - great to see you taking care of everyone again. You are amazing.

I was really stoked to see that the golden spike was laid at the Brush Mountain Lodge. No better place. The photos brought back some strong memories and emotions.

I know that Dave B will be joining you at your table in spirit... enjoying the stories, laughs, food, and beer that will be shared by all the racers you host this year.
