Congrats to all, especially the finishers, and to those who scratch.. do you still itch? You have all seen the elephant.
Thanks Joe @ mtb cast, Scott, Matt and Dave. This is some good stuff.

Yes.
Despite injury I wish I could still be out there riding. After months of training and planning I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do now that I don't have the TD as my target.

Congrats Paul from  aunt Carroll and I we never had a doubt about if you would finish just when. We learned from your solo the Atlantic that you would give it your all for that final kick to the finish. You have made us all very proud .Your dedication, determination and focus of task has been inspirational.

What about next year?

The TD`11 finish was what ESPN calls an 'Instant Classic'. Congrats to Kurt...and Jefe. And yes, it was nice to finally have a journalist at the finish, especially one who takes ace pics.

TD has a working list of 2011 press here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?hl=en_US&hl=en_US&key=0AkjYTTBAyG5KdGxhT0FNN0gwMVFDNVFRcTlYeXA5MFE&output=html

I'm sure there's lots more out there, so please mention new items as you read/hear of them.

Where are the southbound riders spending the night?  Best as I can tell from the blue dots and a few guesses...

Justin Simoni is rough camping in the Great Divide Basin - the only racer who will not have an asterisk  thumbsup

A few have old spot data, so tonight's location is a mystery:  JH, MW, AG, DG, JV, DBirtch

Mile 1498 indoors in Steamboat Springs, a chain of 9.  If you still think that Texas is still its own country, then the whole Steamboat group is foreign:  The 2 Texas Sheilas, Texan NK, South African MP&LB, Brits KC and WS, German RM, and Spanish JM.

Mile 1591 rough camp:  GP, SH, ME
Mile 1726 rough camp @9000':  JB, JP
Mile 1730 rough camp @9400':  DHorton, DBayley, JU, LD
Mile 1744 indoors Salida:  TH
Mile 1837, Ludders Creek USFS Camp @10000':  NB, LK, JE, RP, TS
Mile 1904, indoors in Del Norte:  BA
Mile 1938, rough camp @11600':  KR
Mile 2009, rough camp Brazos Ridge area:  CS
Mile 2013, another rough camper Brazos Ridge area:  DHill
Mile 2041, Hopewell Lake USFS camp @9800':  JR, LA, DB, LG, DT
Mile 2097 Abiquiu:  MM
Mile 2109, rough camp just south of Abiquiu:  BO
Mile 2166, rough camp just shy of Cuba:  MH
Mile 2301, motel at edge of Grants:  Eurotrain SB, MC, RK
Mile 2381, Pie Town Toaster House:  AH.  Based on his wanderings around town, looks like both cafes were closed Sad
Mile 2474, rough camp 9 miles N of Beaverhead (or maybe they got there?):  RG and presumably PS
Mile 2541 and still moving:  EP

May the wind be at your backs.

A return trip? Like a Tour Divide Double? There and back? Has it ever been done?

Congrats to all finishers, about-to-finishers and will-finishers (in the next hours, days or weeks)!!

Past 5 riders on Hwy 50 east of Gunny yesterday afternoon, what a brutal headwind! Probably 30 mph gusts. The five were within a half an hour of each other but only two were riding together, they seemed like they were in good spirits when I drove by and gave them a thumbsup!

Any word on DeJay Birtch yet? 24 hours and no Spot action. Last point shows nothing around.
