20 days on the regular Divide Route?  That is a tall order under ideal conditions. But she pushed past Eureka on night 2 so that is an great start for a 20 day attempt.

But I wonder about remaining snow.  How much is left, how much is now sticky mud?

And what about heat and fires further south?

Anyway GO CB and SH thumbsup

oh and "way to go" Caroline--I see your dot has just about hit that last 60 mile pave section!!!

It looks like Cricket and Stephen are currently in some snow. They should, however, easily push will past Whitefish on day 3.

Hey everyone!

Just got back to Athens yesterday and I am slowly unwinding from the trip.  What an experience.  I took a lot of video and pictures from the trip and will put a few up before I make a full movie.  Anyways, check out this short clip from day 10 in the snow.

Just read a tweet that Cricket is in Whitefish trying to get her bottom bracket fixed but the shop doesn't have the tool to take it off.  icon_scratch  angry4

CONGRATS on a ride well ridden Caroline!  You are worshiped for sure!  It's hot as the devil here in PHX so I can only imagine what you're dealing with...  I toast you with a VERY cold frothy beverage!

I'll stick with the original gdnbr for extra credit, no more snow shortcuts. There are mixed messages, but Cricket and Steven made it through without too much pain (although there are still snowhikes involved). Just saw them in whitefish. The other NOBOs are probably still using the shortcuts for this years race

Cricket and Stephen in Whitefish this afternoon.    They told Roland what he has been wanting to hear, which is that the regular GDBMR is rideable.

It looks like Cricket and Stephen are currently in some snow. They should, however, easily push will past Whitefish on day 3.

To keep their current approx 20 day pace it will be critical that C & S get as much of the easy road they are currently on behind them, Ferdale should be the target for tonight, and then get an early start tomorrow so they hit Richmond Peak with good daylight.  If we see they skip Seeley, which is off route, and make for Ovando tomorrow night then they will have stuck to a nice aggressive W record pace.

Greg McKennis called in planning to cross into Canada tomorrow. Cricket Butler called in from Whitefish where she was getting some repairs. Stephen Huddle called in from Whitefish with a bear sighting. And Kevin Cunniffe called in from Del Norte.

Steven Huddle spent more time talking about Sarah Palin than bear. Perhaps politics should be edited out?  I found his comment on that rather offensive and polarizing, no need for it in a ride report.

I think it's rad, if you can stand to think about the news whilst racing, you are mentally in fine shape!

Way to go, Roland and Ross. Yes, Craig and Denis took the shortcuts and seem to be resting up in Elkford for the final push tomorrow. Dunno if there are weather issues or if they're just dead tired. Denis ran a monster race yesterday and caught up with Craig. Kudos to both of them, it's gonna be a photo finish tomorrow. And Congrats to Caroline. All of you guys are superhuman  thumbsup.

I don't think Joe should be charged with editing content. Call ins are a snapshot of the race and the rider. If a particular rider continues to comment in ways you disagree with, don't click the link...

IMHO, Mrs. Palin has a stage and the following to be far more divisive and polarizing than a TDR racer. I suggest taking up any concerns about divisive political discourse with her directly.
