Looks like Craig is pushing thru the night!       icon_biggrin

Can he bridge the gap between him and Ollie??  There is still over 100miles between them at 2am.  Anything is possible and I suppose it depends on how long Ollie sleeps for?

Could be an interesting last day for Ollie and Craig.

Go Ollie, go  Wink
Looks like Craig's tracker has stopped suspiciously close to the Geronimo Guest Ranch or at least off the road enough to not be a tracking error?  I can't see him catching Ollie unless he's gone into stealh mode and Ollie sleeps in.  Garrett and Kurt must be hurting after that long stint on the bike.  I won't be surprised if Criag pulls away more from them after a short sleep.

Does anyone know where the finish line is in Banff?
Cjell looks like he will finish in the next few days so dad is going to head up to Banff to see him in.

Maybe CS has gone super stealth and taped his spot tracker to a tortoise (Breaking Bad style) and is going for the win cloaked in satellite black-out. That would be exciting, but how would we watch the race? This drama is giving me anxiety to see how it unfolds. All the effort I've put in day after day, mile after mile, following this epic only to see it come down to a mechanical.

Love the Breaking Bad reference. I love that show. Bummed that only three seasons were on Netflix.

I know, off topic. Moving on!

I wonder if Serge's spot stopped working - he was moving well right up to the time it stopped tracking, and he never stops that early.

As best I can tell it looks like Craig got around 3 hours sleep last night.  Garrett and Kurt, looks like 6 hours sleep.  Ollie, 6 hours sleep.  Craig has around 26 miles on Garrett and Kurt as these two start out this morning.  It will be interesting to see how this plays out.  Can Craig push on only 3 hours sleep or will the extra 3 hours sleep for the duo allow them to push longer.  Good stuff  thumbsup

Right behind the big fancy hotel - the Banff Springs Hotel.  There's a gravel parking lot and a big info sign about the Spray Lake Trail.  The start of the trail is the start/finish line for the TourDivide.

Update on Tyson Fahrenbruck whose Spot Tracker stopped working Thursday south of Island Park.  He has been traveling the whole time and was in Pinedale last night.  He was able to pick up a new Spot Tracker there but due to them being closed on the weekends he won't get it tracking until tomorrow which is a huge bummer to his dad and I and Amy, his fiance.  Like many of you, following the blue dots is our life right now.  Just a little background on Tyson, he began mountain biking about a year ago and started biking back and forth to work and doing some short rides around Boise, Idaho.  Then started thinking about the TD.  Wouldn't you know it, the first race he picks is the BIG one!!  He did a few 100-150 mile rides around here and then set out for Banff.  We are all so amazed by his effort and so proud of him.  He has been riding with some great people he has met, so we have followed their tracking since Tyson's stopped working on Thursday.

Best of luck to all the riders and it has been very exciting to watch Craig and Ollie, I am amazed by their ability.  I ordered the TD books and received them yesterday!! Wonderful reading.

Calls: Justin Simoni, The Long Ranger, called in from the Como Depot last night. Wishing Mark Farnsworth the best with his feet and regrets not being able to ride with him some. Max Morris called in from Salida this morning. The funk he was in yesterday didn’t last and he’s feeling much better.

As a mother can often do, forget to mention some of the important facts here are some other interesting things about Tyson Fahrenbruck.  He went to the United Bicycle Institute in Ashland, Oregon.  So he is knowledgeable about fixing bikes which should help him if he has some mechanical problems on the TD.  He also has several bikes and has a real passion for all things biking.  Good luck Tyson, watching you till you cross that finish line thumbsup

Ordered my books & received them already! Read most of volume 2 last night. Smiles, laughs, & tears. Thank you to those who put it together and those who anonymously match the donations! While I will most likely NEVER do this ride, I have been canoeing in the Boundary Waters where you pack in everything you need & pack out the remains. It may not compare in a lot of respects, but does to the call of nature & being alone. Thank you to those of you who ride, those who post, and those who take care of the "logistics" of the event! :-)

Tyson's mom, are you a cyclist, MB or Roadie?  Good luck to Tyson! I also would love to give a run at this race, as someone who is an avid cyclist but just returning to MB after a 10year road only experience.  The time commitment for training... is the question.  Maybe that is why i love all these riders form Ollie, to Tracy to Tyson, Elena, all of them for the pursuit of a goal.  A goal that takes as much or more mental strength as physical.

Suezim: I'm glad one of the family will be able to see him complete the ride! Please be sure to tell him he was watched (even if we couldn't do it in person!). Congratulations on your new boy in the family! Maybe he'll take after his uncle... :-)
