Anybody know why Chip Andrus, one of the NoBo's, diverted off-route? I didn't think there was re-route that far South.
My guess is that it's an error. I think I remember that intersection where he went wrong (if that's the case). It's a Y, and since the cues are written North-South, if you don't have a precise GPS track, you don't really know whether the correct route come from the right or the left. One of the challenges of riding NoBo.

Note to ScottM: you seem to have 2 Paul Campbells in the list, and one of them seems tied to Ollie Whalley. Ollie Whalley in turn seems tied to somebody else. Again, just in the list.

The TD12 Grand Depart show is up! Haven't heard from Crazy Larry yet but hope to soon. It will be interesting to see how the route is above Fernie!

I heard that Crazy Larry had his bike stolen before the grand depart this morning. Once the riders left he was on a mission to find it.

Wow, that sucks. From what I've heard, Crazy Larry doesn't have much money--and he is very generous with what he's got. If Larry doesn't manage to find his bike, I'd like to start a collection for him. Maybe we can get a "sponsor" to help too, if anyone has any connections. Puerzer, please let me know if he manages to find his bike in the next couple of days. If he hasn't found it by next weekend, I'll pull the trigger on a PayPal account to start begging for contributions.

Great pics... They all look so clean and fresh! And still smiling' too! The commaraderie starts Day 1 and friendships made will endure.

So, who is going to be at the T. Cabin tonight? Such a nice wood stove there.
Yes, I was there last Aug in heavy rain. Very dry, warm, and peaceful until a couple of drunks showed up at 2am doing donuts around the meadow in their pickup, shining their headlights in the cabin window, and shouting "Where's the gun. Lets shoot out the windows." After about 15 minutes wondering what might happen, they drove off. I thought that stuff only happened in Amer'ca!

Got a pic (from Wes Sisk) of the Mexico grand depart -- 4 hearty souls.
That's AZT 750 finisher Arno Minner second from left, a late add to the race, and contender for David Goldberg's triple crown!

Refresh the whole page and you should be all set (from now on). Thanks for the report though.

A little surprised by the long sleeves. We didn't have them last year. Pretty sure those sleeves didn't last very long, though

and one more Thank you for the picture, that's my guy!!! He said it was a very cold, wet day - not that I need to tell you that after the pictures. Looks like some of the riders are on the move again this morning, may be another wet day for them!

6 riders are about to come up on a sleeping Adam Jensen. Very fun to watch these first few days as you wait for someone to make the big move and distance themselves from the pack.
