Looks like Tracey P and Dylan Taylor took a short break in Whitefish and carried on into Columbia Falls where it looks like they inspired Jarral to pick up and also carry on into the night. Or at least some version of those events took place over night. Whatever the case, I'm actually kind of excited that some racing happened while I was on night shift.  |

Hey Scott M, firstly, thanks for all of your effort and for creating Trackleaders! Secondly, any chance of getting a "TD local time" clock embedded somewhere on the board? Maybe I'm just lazy, but I find it hard to keep making the time conversions from way over here in New Zealand! You know, it's hard work this Blue Dot stalking Just a thought. What a crazy pace the top guys are setting! Its been interesting to watch how long the sleep for, they are averaging roughly six hours of sleep!! Is this correct? Oh yeah thanks for posting the pics

Aaron Hershberger, Louis Nicholson, and Andrew Hazen are missed the turn to Butts Cabin and have hit the end of the road at the US border.
The full range of age is represented in this group 22 years to 67!
A quick backtrack will get them back on course. I gotta root for fellow New Englander (and old beer brewer) Andrew Hazen. Come on guys!

Jarral had a mechanical problem with his brakes and slept in Eureka. Looks like he's pushing hard to make up time. |

More calls: JD Pauls called in from Eureka after a couple of hypothermic nights. Walked through some grizzly tracks during a 10 mile hike through snow. Happy to be warm and dry now and looking forward to finding a nice big plate of pancakes before heading out to Whitefish. Robin Borstmeyer called in and recaps a lot of “pushing through snow” up several passes. Made it to Whitefish in the late night.He’s tired, but feels pretty good. Shooting for Seeley Lake today, and hoping Richmond Peak will be the last snow-pusher of his life! And Max Morris called in from Whitefish. Lamenting the hike-a-bike and calls out Dejay Birtch! |

I'm definitely impressed with the ground that Jarral Ryter made up across the valley last night, riding until something like 3 in the morning, then going again some 4 hours later. Just small enough rest/break that his Spot didn't register a green tent icon (which for those that don't know, green tent icon shows up after Spot has not moved for 4 hours or more)
The lead pace is good, considering the wet/cold weather and some snow on the CAN/Mont passes, but not anything unusually fast for a legit non-re-routed TD route.

Well, I was thinking of going over in a few days towards Butte to cheer on some racers, but apparently this is against the rules? WTF? Makes no sense. How are these people on here getting pictures of the racers then?

Looking at where the SoBo Grand Depart riders spent Sunday night June 10.
Looks like there TWENTY people at the motels in Eureka, including some who arrived in the wee hours of the morning. Reaching Eureka (mile 278) last night is right on the edge of maintaining a 100-mile-per-day pace, and it looks like 62 people made it that far, about 2/3rds of the starting lineup. Five of the seven Italians were at motels in Eureka.
Looks like there were NINE people at the cabin in Canada at mile 205, well behind the 100-mile-per-day pace, but still riding!
Lantern Rouge is shared by three riders who spent the night in Sparwood (mile 148). Brian Grimm rode into Fernie yesterday, but back-tracked to Sparwood this morning, so I'm putting him in this group (did he go off route to the bike shop?).
Five riders have spot dots that are at least a day old, so not clear where they spent the night.
Adam Hale gets a ride-all-night award; as far as I can tell hasn't stopped for more than an hour since leaving the Flathead cabin at 6:00 Saturday morning - 36 hours and 140 miles.
