Does anyone know if Gary Glunt is ok? He's a co-worker of mine, but it doesn't seem as if he has made it to Whitefish as of yet... (at least according to the spot) I'm hoping he's ok!

Looks like Gary is on the move again. I'm very glad he's ok and still going!! :-) Your co-workers are following you, Gary ('cause I keep sending them stuff!!)!!!  Thank you to all who take their pictures, talk to them, and get to know them along the way! You are very appreciated by those of us who are not able to do so!

This ride by Eszter is pretty awesome. She's ripping through Wyoming, and I bet she goes even faster in her home state. It's not inconceivable that she could take a solid week off the current women's record. Obviously it's the current record holder's decision, but the fan in me would have loved to see Jill Homer line up at the start line this year and defend her title. She may not have Eszter's horsepower, but she's a bulldog who I suspect would have done everything possible to defend it. The head-to-head would have cleared any debate about speed of course, etc. Ah well, maybe next year they'll both toe the line. Either way, it's cool to see the women stepping up the game so much (Kathleen and Tracey are also on a record breaking pace.)

I've known Taylor Z. aka Cjell, aka Mantelope, or whoever he is today, for most of his 27 years. I obvious have a dog in this fight. I want all the riders to ride free, fast and healthy, and set records ... and then have Taylor to nick them all at the line because he has more moral strength - more heart in his chest and steel in his legs. ;-) We shall see. I just found this forum. I'm enjoying catching up on all your expertise.

Most of the course through Colorado has pretty buff, fast riding conditions. I think Ester is gonna fly when she hits hometurf.

Denis - that pic is the one I recall. As I say all gone when I got there.

Is The Cordillera V3 available in ebook format?  Or will it be?

I'll have to ask Eric about that to know for sure, but I think 'no' is the answer for now as it's the first I've heard of it as an option. We might look into it I guess.

Also, a thanks to all this year's contributors and helpers. And a reminder for you all to get your thinking caps on - just as last year's epic race has provided much of the appeal of this year's journal, much of what is going on out on the route now is the raw material for next year's edition.

The reason I asked is because v2 was available as an ebook.  Trying to reduce my book shelve space....

Have had three TD riders pass by already this morning.  Martin R. says that this country is so beautiful-beautiful-beautiful.  Elena M & Marco C are really enjoying the ride.  They mentioned they live in the mountains of Italy, narrow valleys and steep mountains...no wide open spaces like southwest Montana.  They also mentioned Montana was a very large state.

Is that really Martin Rendl from Austria who first ventured onto the TD in 2009 with an immaculate set of bright red, brand new Ortleib panniers? Looks like a much leaner set up now, and much faster progress this time round. Schnell schnell Martin.

Oh, maybe then. I'll ask Eric and let you know. But you'll miss out on a great cover.

It's good that strong winds are helping the riders throught WY. It's still got to be tough with the temps in the mid 80's and no shade. Hope their water holds out til Rawlings. Eszter still going strong and I hope gets to Colorado tonight.

Got more coming!

Well, not really. Depends on which way you are going. Just like last year, current winds will slows you to a crawl going north. Fixie Dave sounds like he is waiting for it to settle down.
