This ride by Eszter is pretty awesome. She's ripping through Wyoming, and I bet she goes even faster in her home state. It's not inconceivable that she could take a solid week off the current women's record.
It is amazing that she is averaging 160 mile days this far into the race. We are witnessing some serious bar-raising for the women's record. She has been steadily going faster throughout the entire race, so I too think she will crush Colorado.  headbang

Well, not really. Depends on which way you are going. Just like last year, current winds will slows you to a crawl going north. Fixie Dave sounds like he is waiting for it to settle down.

In my mind he's making a good call. Seems like a good time to take a rest. Looks like he's scored a nice hotel bed for the evening.

So, if I'm reading past results correctly, the fastest time seems to be in 17 days for the men & 24 days for the women. Are Ollie & Craig on pace for 17 days? How are the fires in New Mexico going to impact the race (since it doesn't look like they have the one closest to the route contained yet)? Thanks in advance for the answers!

It looks like Eric Knudstrup took a wrong turn. Does he have to backtrack the entire way or can he start again in Helena?

It's my understanding that he needs to follow the route completely. More importantly, it looks like he's walking, so let's hope that everything is ok except for his bike.

Definitely - when I clicked it earlier he was at 10.something miles/hour, but off route.

Eric Foster (after putting his own knee back in place) & Tracy Burge (after being incredibly sick) are machines! I'm amazed at the ability to have major issues & keep going! I have no idea what happened to my friend Gary in Whitefish, but he's back at it and doing great! I am in awe of all who have done this ride at ANY point in time! (In addition to all who are dealing with stomach issues & swollen anythings!) To see the pictures of them smiling and having fun with each other & people they just meet is amazing.

Did you see that Jarral and Eszter stopped at the same store at the same time? She left before he did and has about 7 miles on him right now, but this is going to be a good race between them just like the CRT.

So... when they're coming up on each other, do they start singing the theme from Jaws to get the other one moving? :-)

More calls: The Long Ranger called in from Island Park. He’s having hub issues but doing okay. Eszter Horanyi called in from Rawlins. She’s doing well and feels good having come through the basin. And Jarral Ryter called in from Rawlins. He’s chasing Eszter.

No summary show tonight. Early day tomorrow! Enjoy!

Can't wait to see what JR does in CO, he is back on home turf, almost, and climbs like a goat. Watch out for those big rabbits!

Where is Georg Deck?  Some sort of lodge?

As for EK, does he go back the way he came or go to the route and back track?  Hitch a ride back to where he deviated?  Just curious about best practice in these kinds of situations. Seems like there were a lot of mistakes between Lincoln and Helena this year.

Serge and Chip are passing with the exact same mileage 1598.11 going opposite directions. How fantastic, is that really happening?

No, that would mean the course is 3200 miles.  Chip has 2750-1598 miles because he's NoBo.
That WOULD be cool though to pass exactly halfway (approx 20 miles S of Atlantic City?).
