I have looked around for an answer and I know I can find it here:
TT and NM are south of Steamboat and on a stretch of trail that is not on the red trackmaster line - is that optional or are they off course??
Ollie and others have usually one spot on that trail section - his track is pretty spaced out there.  Some rider's spots miss it completely. LR etc.

Someone mentioned this earlier in the thread, can't remember who it was but they said the route they are on is the course and the red line is incorrect.

Thanks - I'll look around more.  70 pages without a discreet search term left me scratching.

It looks like Ollie opted to keep moving out of Silver City! He's roughly 11hrs away from the 16day mark leaving him considerable time to spare!

The Long Ranger just left, on his back wheel! In the dark.

He thought he was chasing down Mark a few hours ahead, we looked and Mark is in Steamboat with swollen feet.

Bread Pudding and Ice Cream was his choice.

Max and Erik, they must be sharing the same sleeping back as the Spot just shows Max unless you can move around at the closest setting.

Max was of the view that he was carrying far too much and would choose a lighter strategy for next year.

Silly question.  How long is the race, really?  Description says 2745 miles, but Ollie is at mile 2729 miles right now, and he has a heck of a lot more than 16 miles to go!  I'm guessing he has another 140 miles at least which puts the race around 2880 miles.  I know there are alternates, etc., but I didn't realize they added this much distance.  What mile will Antelope Wells be?

I was wondering the same. I show customers the map and was asked the same question.

Today I was driving back home from UT and once again while passing through Hartsel I saw TDR bikes.

-- Max M and Erik G.---

They both had big grins and seemed to be having a good day after some earlier bonking.  They are planning on a good nights rest tonight and then “timing’ their arrival at the bike shop in Salida tomorrow morning.  They are both in the ‘still racing’ frame of mind and are very aware of the racers nearest them.

their bikes

Go Max
Go Erik

Much appreciated!

It's always fun to hear the racers calling in. And to think we have the CTR coming right behind this!

My donation to Trackleaders and MTBCast is in celebration of the remarkable determination and heart shown by Tracy Burge in persisting and then coming back after being plagued by sickness so bad she thought she couldn't go on, and the unbelievable strength and competitive spirit of Sara Dallman, who has ridden her heart out trying to make up for lost time the first few days of the race.  It brings tears to my eyes every time I think about what you two are going through out there - couldn't be prouder!  Many thanks to Trackleaders and MTBCast for bringing this phenomenal race to us back home.

Looks like 2nd is going to come down to who wants to sleep less tonight.  Going to be a long one for the riders.  Looks like Craig hasn't stopped for the past 9 hours!  Garrett and Kurt are keeping pace, just an hour behind after a rest stop.  Good luck.

This might be the night I stay up late to watch the action.  Ollie still moving - may make the run to the border in the wee hours of the morning.  My bud TT and NM are making up for an afternoon start out of Steamboat (mechanical issues - broken spokes and derailler respectively) and are still moving now at 11 pm.  ZK is in Kremmling, but maybe still going.  LR has thrown himself into hyperdrive and found out in Como that he is ahead of MF and can relax a bit, if that is possible for him - now still riding.
Great fun to watch and hear the whole race and in TT's neighborhood specifically.  Donations made tonight.  Thanks!
David - Enjoy Tom when he drops by the Depot.  Compliment his light gear set Wink (he has made at least three shipments home!)

Ollie needs to ride through the night if he's interested in John Nobile's long-standing border-to-border GDR record (of 15:01:26). He made it to the US border in 1:07:54. Needs to be at Antelope Wells with a total time less than 16 days, 9 hours and 20 mins.

By my calculation Ollie could stop for his usual 6 odd hour rest and still be left with over 10 hours to pedal the last 96 odd miles.

Go Ollie, go!!

What's the distance from Silver City to the finish line at the border?

Go Ollie  thumbsup

We did it in three days this spring!!  Smooth or paved roads, 124 miles, these guys will knock it out in no time.  Nice border guards and friendly dogs at the line.
