That stretch of blue dots across 5 states (7 if you include the ITTs) is pretty cool to watch! Looks like the difference between Ollie and the current lanterne rouge is something like 1,800 miles. Pretty amazing! And congrats to Ollie: beating the record by this much while having a reasonable sleep every single night is nothing short of of spectacular! I didn't think it could be done. +1 Personally, I don't find sleep deprivation to be very inspirational. Ollies huge mileage with plenty of sleep is amazing!!! Good luck to everyone still out there.

I was checking out what Kurt and Garrett have listed for their bikes. Wow! Seems like their monster times are rolling on a bit more bike than we sometimes see the leaders with. Garrett is listed as running a Specialized 29er Expert FSR - if it's like mine, that would be about 33% more bike than what Stappy brought(!). I have no experience how the additional weight might affect such a prolonged endurance event, but I do know that I can feel the difference after a long day on a lighter 29HT than the FSR Great inspiring TD 2012, thanks to all the rider's. I'll be watching until they're all in!

Hey TD followers! We are making a film following Jarral Ryter who is competing in the race as a Type 1 diabetic. We are running a funding campaign to make the film, and our time period closes in 50 hours. There are lots of really fun rewards that you can get for helping us document the race! Please consider donating. Our page is at : www.indiegogo.com/thethinlineour facebook page where we post regular updates is at: www.facebook.com/thethinlineand if you want to know more about the film check out this article written about us in the Denver Magazine Westword! http://blogs.westword.com/showandtell/2012/06/the_thin_line_draft.phpRight now there's a fire going through Jarral's hometown Mancos, CO, where we've been basing a lot of the production. We've had to evacuate his childhood home, but we hope everything will be fine and that there aren't more eventful encounters with fires on this race! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! Thanks so much for your help! Kyan Krumdieck

Ollie has run a meticulous race. I was surprised to see the length of his sleep on the last night, but then saw his time for the last 100miles. Still storming after 15 days Ollie obviously decided why break a winning formula. Excellent inspiring result. Looks like Criag has put in some useful distance to retain 2nd place. Another gret effort and hope that pedal holds out.

More calls today: Crazy Larry called in from Canmore. He’s at the Nordic Center and he and all of the kids there send HIP-HIP HURRAYS to Ollie, Craig, and all the riders! Fixie Dave Nice called in from Lima. Just ate at Jan’s Cafe and recaps his ride. Tracy Burge called in from Polaris. She recaps her ride and is excited to head out of Montana but is feeling great and thankful for the encouragement on the trail! And Mark Farnsworth called in from Steamboat to say he’s OUT. He’s developed bursitis and can hardly move his feet!

I can't figure out if Craigs spot isn't tracking or he stopped. I went on to Google Streets (yes, they actually have this town mapped out ) and I see he stopped at the laundromat, but only for maybe a few minutes and then went across the street but I just see what appears to be a house. My guess is he's still moving but he could be sleeping for a few since he only slept 3 hours last night. In the mean time GP and KS are closing in...less than 20 miles.

I kinda wish he'd get going!

That's odd...both the main tracker and his personal tracker show him around maybe 30 yards from the laundromat...around Ranger St for me. He's been at the same location for 3 and half hours.

I commend and admire Ollie's performance, and do find it even more athletically impressive/relevant/understandable by riding hard long days with at degree of rest vs. transforming it to a deprivation of sleep event.
I hope Craig can hang on till the end. It's really too bad about the pedal, but I don't think many will doubt his riding capacity or persona from reflections of people who met him along the way. At the end of the day, a little Shimano glitch perhaps takes away some of the experience, but his riding and who he is are much more important. A high quality single pedal is a hundred bucks plus. Guys like that are priceless ; )
The call ins they left a day or two back were both very classy in recognizing each others efforts.
Hope everyone else on trail has the fortune to make it in with functioning equipment!

My gut reaction would be that Craig is indeed moving, but his SPOT is either off or not tracking. It doesn't seem like him to 'rest' when he knows how close his chase group is. Or perhaps he's gone stealth, just to give us all some good drama right to the end! Scott

Two things: 1 - what happened to the miles. Someone posted something about the miles changing after Ollie finished (I envison a cartoon rug piling up behind his rear wheel) This morning TT was in Kremling and was listed at 1720. He is now 48 miles down the route in Silverthorne and is listed as 1708. BS is now in Kremling and his miles are listed as 1660. Seems like the distance of 2700 miles was pullllled toward Antelope Wells and removed from the Banff end. (but CM shows 268 mi to go and he is NoBo almost at the Border (go Cjell!))
2 - the Streetview thing has me wondering when Google will 'view' the divide route. I know they adapted a bike for doing bike paths. It might take a more rugged design for TD!

We adjusted the overall length of the route file used for calculations on the tracker right as Ollie was finishing. With a more detailed file this year, the route miles were inflated. So everyone effectively "lost" miles as far as the tracker is concerned. In reality the calculations are just more accurate now. Big congrats to Ollie on the new record! Stellar. Still cheering on Eszter for a new record, and, well, everyone else! I've had the pleasure of meeting most of the field this year @ Brush Mtn Lodge -- great crew!

We wanted to keep is dot live @ AW for a few hours before marking him a finisher (which pulls his dot from the map and disables further tracking). Well spotted. He's a finisher now.

Or maybe an opportunity to upstage Google with the special DIY modified GoPro StreetView Bike and optional Helmet.

Tweet photo of Ollie at the finish in AW. He makes it look easy. His gear is "super-minimal".

Tracy B stopped @ Montana High Country Lodge in Polaris, MT this afternoon. She is feeling much better and is still in! She is fighting a brutal head wind this afternoon as she heads south...that same wind is pushing Fixie Dave our way in a hurry as he heads north.

How do the fast guys manage to carry enough water with so little water carrying capacity? That pic is only 2x600ml bottles and I don't see any likely location for a bladder
