Calls this morning: Stephen Huddle called in from Banff! He’s getting ready to head out on his ITT! And Michael Cleveland called in from Silverthorne. He recaps his ride with tough climbs and a storm.

Michael Cleveland's spot hasn't moved today; on his call in he said he was heading out towards Salida. Maybe the tracker is not working? Hope he's OK. Go Mike!

Congrads to Katherine for a great ride and beating the old women's record. Also to Georg D and Michael I who are rolling in about now. Thanks to all for the photos, call ins, commentary, and insights. Almost as good as being out there. Loved Ollies NZ radio interview. Can't wait for more photos and blogging from the finishers.

Went up and did Gold Dust trail this morning and thought for sure I was going to run into him, but never saw him.

So, Eszter, in regards to your final call-in... What are you going to change next year when you do it again? :-)

I've got other fishies to fry next year but I think I'm hooked.  2014?

I'd swap rear tires in Steamboat instead of Salida, I'd go completely nocturnal in NM, I'd eat more than one slice of pie in Pie Town, and I'd bring an iPod.  I can only sing 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall so many times before even I start to lose it.

So awesome to see records broken again this year!  When does the "Ultra Records" tab change to reflect the new record holders? I'm sure the riders are too humble of people to even mention it.

Big up to Chip for an amazing ride. Finished last night at 1145 and wa received by 3 drunk canucks and one drunk Cjell Money. Sprayed some bubbles on him and wisked him away to more celebrations. Chip entertined us with tales of wolves and mountain lion encounters. His run in the a straight line wind storm sounded most epic. Be listening for Steven Huddle's updates as he get around Ferndale. Chip descibed the route as unpassable and many stretches of down tree area exist in areas gated off to cars which would indicate a slow slow cleanup. I personally know how gnarly Chip is so when he says it's bad, it's probably really bad. Chip caught me in Pie Town and kept me nervous the entire ride that old bastard. Epic Stuff. He and I are just enjoying banff a little with the fellas from Soul Bikeshop. Loving live in Canada. Thanks for letting me in. The Chastity belt is however chafing me a bit...leaving back for CO in the morn.

Congrats to all the idiots that chose to race southbound. Some awesome efforts. Keep an eye on Blake from Truckee on his ITT...strong rider for sure.

So glad my mother found this forum and my blog.  420 hooray.

Sounds like a bit of chatter about my gear choices...maybe address them a bit.
No Helmet - wasn't expecting the TD to be as tech is some sections as it was. Never toured with a helmet. Sketchy choice - maybe. If I do it again it will probably be with a cowboy hat.
POC t-shirt- Ha, Helmet company on the shirt. The tattoo in Silver City was a bit untimely as is required the wearing of a shirt for sun protection but i chopped off the bits i didn't need.
Bike - 2 speed BlackSheep snow bike ran 29er. Those wizards at Blacksheep help me build a snow bike with a 68 mil BB. If I ran the Tour again I would do it fat for sure (I am a pussy)Love the shit out of my 2 speed. Allowed me to climb and move when i needed to. Oiled the chain ~ 5 times and rotated the tires once...that was it! No bike maintainence. The BS ti fork and frame takes some finess but is unmatched in compliance over shitty rocky grav and washboard. SO NASTY.

Thanks for everyone who watches here. Super fun to check in and see all the chatter. Awesome to check in on all other racers getting radical.

Blog update coming.

BOOYA!

I just listened to Serge's final call in and am wiping the tears out of my eyes. He really sums up the experience and captures the depth and purity of the event. Wow !
