Thanks! You'll have to ask JayP that question, but I do know that he was glued to the computer. I'm a happy person, I like to share that. Thanks again! See ya out there!

Since i discovered this race, all i have done is look at the computer, hit refresh and read every word i can find on the subject.  Jills book, The Cordellas, blogs, etc.  I have forgotten all about that other race which used to consume me.  it now stands as a testament to all the spoiled coddled  athletes.  Watching a blue dot move every so slowly is brutally boring... unless you have been in the saddle hurting, tired, hungry  after only 50mile Saturday ride.  Then it sinks in.  Amazing athletes who are mentally strong physically gifted and just a bit crazy.  My kind of people!

Very cool to watch Jim and Tracy caboosing into Silverthorne, after  their adversities earlier in the ride.

Hey, is that a bonus trip to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory?

 thumbsup

Late congratulations to Aaron, Louis, Mel, and Gary!!  What a ride you all did.  So happy Tyson could share some of his time with all of you.

Also to Michael, you are almost there, good luck and safe travels!!

Mike Dion is screening Reveal the Path tonight at the Egyptian Theater in Boise Idaho!!  Tyson had tickets, haven't heard if he was able to get home in time to go, but both him and Amy were going to try and make it.
Norb D. is there also, who did the TD last year, also from Boise.

It has been great to learn about all the riders!

Right on Michael!!  Wish I could have finished.  It was great riding with you for the few times we ran into each other.  It was great to catch up to you on day 1 for the push to Elkford!  Again great to see you at the end!!

I see that Tony Cervati has started an ITT. For those who don't know, Tony attempted the TD last year but had to abandon on the first day when he encountered a bear and fell into the Spray River and nearly drowned.

http://type1rider.blogspot.fr/2011/06/statement-from-tony-cervati-statement.html

Tony is also a Type 1 diabetic, so along with Jarral Ryter that makes him the second rider this year with this condition.

Go Tony!   thumbsup

Giorgio had a little side trip to Italy, he will be back on course soon after the 17th. More interestingly his brother was riding with Mark }the sag wagon guy, they said they were gonna stick together, so congrats to Riccardo and Mark.

I was returning to Frisco after mountain biking near Boreas Pass and bumped into Tracy Burge and Jim Stansbury as they were pedaling up Boreas Pass Road. Completely random ... no SPOT stalking. I actually didn't even know they were in this area. I was trying to outrun a big lightning and graupel storm, and they were pedaling right into it. It reminded me of all those little moments of bravery that you constantly have to conjure on the Divide.

They looked good — said they're just trying to have fun and make it to Mexico after recovering from illnesses. Jim said he was going for the "oldster" finish. When I told him about Rich Wolf, he replied, "Oh, you just broke my heart." Anyway, it was fun to bump into Tour Dividers on the trail. Sounds like they're both set on bringing in the red lantern. I wish them the best on the rest of their journey.

Congratulations Michael, what a great ride!!

Tyson got home last night to Boise safe and mostly sound--he was so tired when he crossed the finish line.  Hope you are doing good Michael!!  Take care.

While doing "research" for my upcoming motorcycle attempt of the GDR/CDT/TD route, I found this picture of a group about to finish at AW. The picture shows the date as July 4th, but the poster said it was a Thursday, so July 5th. Anyone know who they are? Here is the link to the thread on Advrider: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=804566&page=2

My guess,
Josh, Brett, Chris, Greg & Jon??

We leapfrogged through Butte, I never saw Chris, Brett and Josh after that, saw Gregg through Rawlins and bumped into Jon before Salida after he took a rest day in Silverthorn. All too strong for me to hang with! BangHead
