David - where did you go for so many days! The pictures and updates from the ComoDepot stopped almost a month ago, I was a bit worried. Good to see you back. Is there any chance we will see and hear about the riders between the Italians and Giorgio? Your updates were wonderful glimpses of the participants.

Unfortunately I have had 'issues', the business up here has been terrible, economy, drought, fires etc and I have been trying to keep the place going. I do have some more photos and will try and recap.

Big congrats to all those who have finished, and to those who still persevere.
A HUGE thank you to racers and their friends and family who have been willing to share their thoughts via phone calls, forum posts, photos, blogs, etc. Your generosity allows us to vicariously ride with you.
I'd love to hear more about Giorgio's story. When he and Ricardo's dots started moving south, I assumed the brothers would be together for the duration. But then Giorgio took off from Silverthorne on June 30, returned to Europe, but than came back to Silverthorne and started riding again on July 17 -- there must be a good story in there.

A muddy story!
They are both from Sicily, not that that is probably relevant, but my first Sicilians.

I apparently forgot to post this here: Michael Cleveland called in with a final call before heading back to Germany. He sends thanks out to his wife and others!

There are at least 2, but to my knowledge neither is doing an ITT. Just touring it! Gen Shimizu is one. I think he's currently in Helena (going south) so I doubt he's the one you saw. Here is his blog: http://www.greatdivideride.com/journalA few days ago while he was nursing a sprained ankle near the border, Gen mentioned this guy, who passed him, so he's probably the one you saw: Thanks Denis. I think it was the rider on the bottom. And thanks for the link to his blog. I'll follow his posts for the rest of his tour.

Tracy Burge called in from Abiquiu. She’s happy to be in New Mexico! So happy, she sings for us!

Ollie's detailed account of the race is a real highlight for me.....After followig the blue dots faithfully morning, noon & night, it's good to fill in the details and enrich my armchair racer experience.

Thank you, Ollie!!! It was a very wonderful read! There are various other food challenges around the country... maybe you could make a plan to win them all! :-) Congratulations on your finish & thank you very much for sharing!!!
