In answer to MTRoad's questions, I am the coordinator for Cycling in the piddly little hamlet of Ovando, population 50. Our town supports cycling and we have a park and grass area for camping, we also provide 3 protected shelters, a sheppards wagon, old hooscow [jail] and teepee for rent for $5 a night; along with solar showers, café, market, and the local fly shop has Hammer products and emergency bike parts like tires and tubes. We're located about 45 miles west of Lincoln. Hope that helps!

Thank you larelsail for admitting to talking with your husband's blue dot - it's comforting to know I'm not the only one; last night I noticed he stopped for the night in the middle of nowhere and, because I didn't want him to sleep all alone in the bear country, I was 'begging' the dot to continue to move because just around the bend (not sure how far that actually was) I noticed several other riders had stopped for the night already. Well, he didn't listen Now a technical question if someone can answer with some certainty: on the Leaderboard Race Clock it says my husband made it to the border in 2 days: 1 hour: 53 minutes which is exactly what the announcement below the map was stating (that he was tracked at the border at 9:53 am); however, his blue dot spot at the border shows the time of reaching the border at 11:49 am. That is 2 hours later! Which one is accurate - the blue dot or the Race Clock? And, if it is the Race Clock - does it mean that his blue dot is still 2 hours off and he is possibly somewhere ahead along the route? Thank you for clarification, anyone! To ALL the racers: you are awesome! Thank you for doing this race because you are inspiration, motivation, way-showers, teaching us how to find more strength than we think we have inside and for showing us how to achieve almost impossible by consistently pushing one pedal at a time. Be safe and enjoy this ride!

There should be a "image sizing" option in the dialog box if you are using the "export to hard drive" option in LR (at least there is in 3 and 4 on the Mac)

Looks like a great race for the singlespeeders. I just noticed there is one fixed gear rider Drew McIntosh, on a Surly Long Haul Trucker. 8 Southbounders and two Northbounders and one blue dot way out in left field. Make that 9 Southbounders. Scott McConnell is back and is in the lead by a small margin over the next two racers.

Just updated the vmail message for the racers. Some keys were found by Scott Thigpen and left at Glacier Cyclery in Whitefish. They had 2 Toyota keys and 2 Ace Hardware keys on them.

Richard Costello called in from Eureka where he recaps his ride. Josh Smith called in from Whitefish to say he’s OUT! Mike Johnson called in from Whitefish. Rick Ashton called in from Eureka. Drew McIntosh called in from Eureka. This call cuts off. Nick Legan called in from Whitefish. His knee is doing better. Scott Thigpen called in from Whitefish. And Rich Otterstrom called in from Eureka. http://mtbcast.com/site2/category/td13/

Thanks all I was just watching looks like 3 guys are bedding down in Whitefish for the night all three are in the area of Swan River Inn. a bit off route but looks like it was a planned detour (with 3 of them together) and looks like #1 and #2 SS are still together.
Yea Scott M's spot has what has to be a blip from Whitefish to somewhere and back said his average speed was 500 MPH we know that is not right! LOL he is sitting in the hotel parking lot now it looks like.
And thanks for all the responses I am addicted to watching this and listening to the MTB Pod cast's makes it interesting when you have a friend or spouse doing it!
Thanks again!

Just noticed ScottM's errant point, and fixed one for Andrew Carney as well. Occasionally there are some really crazy points that get logged.
Glad to see an SM dot crushing the route out there. This SM once tried to race the divide, and had there been dots back then, it wouldn't have been doing any crushing!
I just looked at Craig's average daily mileage, as computed by trackleaders. 246 miles per 24 hour period. (!!!)

I resized them -- they were huge! Please see if you can get them smaller before posting next time, or send them to me at smorris@topofusion.com. Thanks!

I like the "estimated finish time" flags...nice work. Can't find the "13 day flag" that Craig seems to be chasing...

And Craig is off again - Mike Hall apparently enjoying a brief lie-in.
You really have to wonder whether this kind of pace is sustainable by Craig. Mike certainly seems to have just eased off a touch over the last 24 hours.

Mikes just moved off now. According to twitter eased off a bit due to breathing difficulties (dust?).

Could be a blessing in disguise - there's still a long way to go.
Looks as though all the top ten are up and running right now.
Given the amount of trail being covered in the dark, it looks as though a really good (hub dynamo-powered?) lighting setup is going to become standard kit for any future serious contenders.
