Awesome! I was worried about him. Hopefully someone gets a picture of him or he does a call in or something.

Just curious if anyone knows what is up with Marco Nicoletti? His marker has been at the junction of 324 and Medicine Lodge Rd for 24 hours now. Maybe his Spot batteries died.

According to his Facebook update this morning he is out of the race due to ankle issues. Bummer!

Looks like one is opting for a Big Mac and the other a whopper. I wonder if they know.

So I was reading a touring journal over on the CrazyGuyOnABike site and a north bound tourer reported massive road construction near the Middlewood Hill area south of Rawlins.  I think this is in the Medicine Bow NF.  Apparently they are putting in a wind farm and are paving the gravel/dirt road.  Future TD's will have 30 miles of pavement through this section.  He reported flag men due to one lane of traffic but no pilot car.

Mike is dining at Heart and Soul Cafe.  Looks like Craig was at the Sinclair Station/Subway but is now at the brew pub. The Buckin Bitter may be a good choice if he knows Mike is in town too.

Karlos Bernart, the Naked Indian, called in from Lincoln. Corey Sheidt called in from Helena. Max Morris called in from near Bannack. He’s riding with a broken shifter and hopes it gets him to Steamboat. And Tyler Arnett called in to say he is OUT with a knee injury.

Warm bed, hot breakfast, dry clothes at Montana High Country Lodge and they are off for Lima.  Weather may be an issue in the Medicine Lodge / Sheep Creek area.

More riders passing through the Grasshopper Valley alone the Pioneer Mountain Scenic Byway.  Weather seem to be breaking, maybe some sun this afternoon.

Thanks for that. My daughter and I met him in front of the grocery store in Helena. He said he was nursing an ankle issue. My daughter was completely enamored with the whole race and keeps asking about him. Too bad he had to drop out.

Good day from Ovando Montana.  The number of riders is slowing down but the entertainment is increasing.  Attached are photos of James Woods - UT [uncle to the actor and cousin to Tiger ----- he says] and Reinhold Mueller - Germany who met on the trail yesterday and have teamed up.  They spent a rather luxurious night in the Sheppard Wagon with pillows and pads and plan on taking it easy to Lincoln where they hope to find a Laundromat and wash off some of the mud from the latest rain that they were riding out of.  Good Luck Guys!

came across it last year and it was a super soft road when it is typically hard pack like most colorado dirt roads...

Hall in the lead.  This has been a great first week of racing.

No, Hall and Stappler have left town together, or within a few hundred yards of each other.

Looking at the tracker it looks like Hall is 1+ miles ahead.  I guess there is a difference in when the tracker updates its position.

I shudder to think at the pace these two will set if they are trying to put distance on each other.

Lots of racing left until Antelope Wells, but this make a bit more interesting at the front.  I hope it stays that way.
