Will next year's race have both a JP and MH ghost flag to to race after?

I don't care what the "official" record holder is regarded as, but I do not anticipate the MH flag dots will be first to reach AW for many races to come no matter what anyone calls it.

WAY TO GO MH!!!

Correction: I DO anticipate the MH dots to reach AW first, ie strike the "not" from my last MSG.

If my math is correct Mike Hall was 29 hours 29 minutes faster to Abiquiu than JP. That is the last point where both Mike and Jay shared the same route.

If anyone should see James O, please could they tell him that Lloyd Payne will meet him at Antelope Wells, & anyone else, (Alex, Liam or others) who arrive around that time, and take them to somewhere for a refuelling & rehydration....courtesy Bank of Mother Radar! If they wish to continue under their own steam, that's OK, but at least they have the option. Good luck to all out there!

Edit: .... Looks like Lloyd just posted his # above. He's watching the tracker, which is a great help. Note: All riders were provided his contact info pre-race.

For those in the know the attached link may be superfluous, but at least for me it is new.
Therefore, I don't understand why the phone number of LP in Lordsburg was edited out shortly after he sent his first mail. It may be of use to family and friends of TD racers too.

Thomas from Germany came in, he has a Moot but hit Steamboat at the wrong time to visit the factory.

Billy came by this afternoon, looking stronger coming back than he did going up.

Camera now working so pictures to follow.

Perhaps he holds the fastest time for the TD but not the record for the route? That's how I'm looking at it.

Yep. I go with that.

If you want to be really picky how do you know if someone has done the full actual route without cutting any corner without following them all the way.

The SPOT is not that accurate.

Looks like James Hodges just pedaled straight through Como without stopping.

Cjell Money called in from the border with his finish call. Rich Otterstom called in to say he is OUT! Greg Thompson called in from Sargents. And Eric Foster called in from “somewhere in Colorado.”

No but a GPX file is, when going for a record most will have a track to back any claims.

COPY OF TEXT FROM LETTER I SENT TO MATTHEW LEE-----
"Matthew,
I deleted my post with my phone number as I don't want to bend any rules. Sure do appreciate you and all of your effort. I am not running a licensed service with regulated tariffs so I also want to be careful not to end up afoul of the law. I am glad to be of assistance though, just so I don't  bend or break any of the conventions of the race. .............." end of quote.
The organizers have my info and if they see fit to post it to the board, fine. I just don't want to turn the forum into a place to advertise services or have someone say, "Well, you let Lloyd do it."
I'm still transporting riders from Antelope Wells, and in fact transported Jesse Carlson last night.

Thanks Lloyd - it's great that there are folks able to help out, considering the remoteness of that border post.

That would be Drew on a Fixie, probably the most laid back rider I have had in here, just headed out for Hartsel.

How does one click two separate spots on the route that a rider has passed today and get the mileage between the spots? I could add up 400 10-minute estimates but there might be an easier way.

I don't see any way to do it.  If you have the ACA maps you could probably get a close estimate from them.

Jesse Carlsson at Antelope Wells and restaurant in Lordsburg where I first met Matthew Lee. In fact he is sitting where Matthew was sitting. That is my ugly brother, Roger, sitting with him. Getting in the truck to go to church this morning, my wife found all of his credit cards on the floor of the truck. We drove up to Silver City and we got to see him again. He was resting peacefully at the motel.

Lloyd sounds like a great guy.

In regards to the after race ride thing, it seems like it is an after race activity so the rules regarding assistance during the race should not apply.  I don't want to step on anyone's toes but I have an idea about developing a list of contacts at various locations along the more popular routes for for hire ride assistance.  Such a list would really help those of us who would like to do sections of some of the routes but don't have local contacts.  I will bring this up in the main forum after the race is over.
