@denisVTT,  what makes it hard going down is it the grade or trail conditions. I have been down A-line at Whistler bike park how would that compare videos of that are on youtube.

Gold Dust is all single track and has some tight stuff on it.
How wide is your trike?

What makes Fleecer ridge hard is that 90 degree left at the very end!

"Long sustained climbs" could be the subtitle of the GDMBR. The grades of many of the climbs are that of old narrow gauge rail trails, from homesteading and mining days, which is one of the sources of the roads - old rail beds.

I love rail beds have ridden and found many long forgotten rail lines here in the PNW. Max trike width is 30inches. I do fine on single track, I looked at Sheppards Picsaweb stream. The jeep trails, fleecer, and some sections of rocky trail in NewMexico all look like a blast for a trike.

@Phil_Rad, Yes suspension on front wheels. We are shooting for 24-27 lbs. complete for my bike.

Until today I assumed that front suspension would be a requirement for TDR; but after going through older posts from 2010-11 TDR riders I have seen where several have switched to carbon rigid forks or full rigid Ti and steel.

Yes I have been aware of her tour for a long time she isn't the only recumbent triker to do the route. But I am not riding a recumbent that would be a different set of challenges.

How about you Tracy? Are you in? You know that the women's record needs to be broken; I think you could bring it down to 20 days or better. :-)

Phil

She could become the first person to hold Divide records in 2 categories - that would be pretty cool.

What about the singlespeeders Jefe Branham and Aidan Harding, aren't they both in the singlespeed- and men's category :-)

Aidan never finished first overall and Jefe didn't qualify for the overall GC because of the 2011 reroutes.  Also, we still do not have the 2011 results - I think JayP might have taken the 2011 title as well as possibly the overall; won't know until the results are posted.

Even though Aidan was very fast in 2010, he still didn't break the single speed record. That record is still held by Chris Plesko.

What was JP's time last year? Anybody know?

I still can't get the idea of doing it on a tandem out of my head.

I still can't get the idea of doing it on a tandem semi-recumbent out of my head, but would need a co-rider to do that. Curious have any of the Fat Bikes (pugsley type) done well in the event yet. I wonder if being able to ride through snow and sand would help them v.s weight penalty? Is there a tandem record? To many ideas not enough races.
Jay and I have the tandem course record, set in 2009 18days 13 hrs 50mins
