Facebook posts ...
Trans North Georgia (TNGA) says ... "Picked up the E at 8:34 I think. 48 hours, 34 minutes. His feet were really pruned. Heading back to Mulberry now."
Eddie O'Dea says ... "Done. That made last year seem like a walk in the park."

Excellent! Huge Congrats to Mr. O'dea for shouldering it into that storm yesterday and last night.
Still a lot of riders out on course, but the Spots are apparently having trouble getting through the rain covered foliage and dense cloud cover from T.S. Lee.
Should be an interesting test of fortitude as to who continues on through the rain and storm conditions. From last check, Wayne Gowens appeared to have 2nd locked, but 3rd still looked like a heated race.

Any word on Dave Tremblay? Looks like he has been camping for the past 3 days......Just wondering if he is riding or out. As a fellow Vermonter, I hope he is riding!

As of an hour ago and according the Facebook Mulberry Gap page (not on the TNGA page yet) the race is being called due to weather related safety concerns for the remaining riders. Sounds like vehicles are being dispatched to start picking up riders on course. Apparently some riders are willing to let the storm pass and continue on when its safe. Not sure how this will pan out.

I'm at Mulberry Gap. Most riders are here or are headed here from what I hear. Freaking epic

Without a doubt, the South East has some of the most challenging conditions and weather anywhere. We don't have the elevation that the Western states cycling routes do, but the humidity, technical single track, vegetation, and climbs make for super humbling mix of adventure. These ultra athletes are amazing.

That was wild! FYI anyone watching my Spot1 stuck in Ellijay, I was out on course, mostly with TDers Cricket, Huddle, and Porter. Had a great time while it lasted. Different animal from TD but same good times. Got pulled off course at mile 205 (thanks Dave for finding us) Definately coming back here to ride/ finish. Last day was end times amount of rain with creepy sky . . . Tornado touching down a few miles from us. Now stuck on airplane trying to fly back to Vermont through the same storm. Hard to believe the sky can even hold that amount of water. Like there was a lake up there.

I know this is way premature but my planning on big events vs work schedules is always a long planning process. Does it look like the TNGA will be on for 2012? If so - can anyone give me any comparisons of this trip vs the CTR (I was a 9.5 day CTR rider so trying to figure what I'm in for if I travel to Georgia next year to do this thing). This route really fascinates me and looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for any advice on this one.
