Earlier post asked about bike shop to help pack/send his bike home.

Did "Bob from Wisconsin" get medical attention for his collarbone on the Canadian or US side?  If he's in Canada, I can get his bike packed and shipped and can probably put him up for a night or so (in Fernie).  If he is really stuck, just let me know and I'll go down to Rooseville/Eureka today to get his bike or him etc.

Someone (Bob's Wife?) can just post back and I'll keep checking in.

Good luck to everybody! (incl. Bob from Wisconsin of course)

Are there any rules prohibiting motivational signs on the side of the route?  I want to put up a sign or two along the route here in CO to get the riders pumped.  All signs will be removed of course once the riders have all passed.

Bob Moczynski received medical attention in the US (Whitefish, MT).  He has his bike with him and there is a bike shop across from his hotel.  I plan to get him on a flight home tomorrow. KootenayB, thanks for your offer to help!

This is great this year.  I know 3 people in the race this year: Eric Bruntjen, Derek Richert, and Grant Crosby.  Last year Eric Bruntjen just wanted to finish the race.  He realized somewhere around Colorado that he was actually doing well, 'turned it on' and managed to actually gain a few places before the end of the race. This year he is trying a bit harder and seems to be keeping up rather well.  Derek Richert is also doing well.  Grant seems to be holding his own as well.

Hey, I notice that the MTBCasts are all coming in *double* on the TD Updates homepage. They're all single on the MTBCast page itself. I can't find an email address for Kevin Montgomery (or anyone else -- I'm so Web 1.0... how do people connect online nowadays?). Can someone get the word to someone?  : )  Thanks! --JP

Where is Matt L.'s likely destination tonight?

It's only ~6 hours to Helena from Lincoln, so he should be able to grab dinner and then continue south up the big climb to the beautiful country on Lava Mountain.  Unfortunately, he'll miss all the wildflowers in the dark.

What forms of navigation are the riders relying on? Just maps and compass or are they using GPS units as well?
Thanks.

Mostly they use detailed cue sheets based on mileage. Most have GPS also.

Hi all,

Nico Sénié's girlfriend just checking in to say hello and represent the internationals! I'm addicted to the podcasts and the little dots and am AMAZED by the progress the guys up front are making!

Had a call from Nico from Whitefish this morning, he's loving the ride so far. The only negative comment he had was that the Teriyaki Noodles he bought at a convenience store somewhere along the way and made for dinner last night... were disgusting  icon_biggrin

Hope all the other Tour Divide Widows / Widowers are enjoying the armchair mountain-biking too! (it's a bit tough to follow it 8 time zones away from the action though...)

Allez Nico, on est tous avec toi!

Looks like Grant Triplow is withdrawing.

Posted today on the "Action and Motion" team website (Grant Triplow, Simon Temple, Christina Domecq)

Had to pull out due to knee injury. G

Anyway, hopefully he will call in to let the TD site maintainers know if he really is pulling out due to knee injury.

Hi, I've been looking for the cue sheets for a while - are these just the list of places on the GDMBR maps, or are they augmented?

Looks like after 4 days on co-operation with the weather things might turn for the worst.
Thunder showers building into Tuesday afternoon over Lincon to Butte.
If it is the same system dropping south from Banff it will be intense.  Heavy Rain and Snow over 7000ft.
Best of luck to all.

Using the contact form on TD.org should get the message to Kevin:

http://tourdivide.org/contact

I'll let him and Joe know.

That's OK in my opinion.  I should talk to Matthew on the phone at some point.  I will try to ask what he thinks.
