I may paint a line across HWY 17 at the 250 turnoff to remind SoBo TD riders to start their timers for Cjell's La Manga Challenge.

We'd all hate for someone to forget and miss out or start their time too early.  LOL

I know it's late in the game (some of you are already en route to the starting lines) but for the benefit of those of us on the sidelines, please post pics and commentary about your TD rigs in the Personal Setups section. I'd love to see what people are riding and how you're packing.

Tony Litson called in called in from Dohar. He called first to say he was having issues with his passport but Homeland Security was interviewing him. He called later to say the issue was cleared up and he’s heading out!

What's the story with the website? Any website? Why does this event not have a website/homebase for years now? Or a bunch of websites? (Often there are both official and unofficial sites for events.)

I like pointing people to the latest on "the story." For the past couple years I've been stuck.

I'm on the bare periphery and have no time, but even so I'm almost inspired to set something up that acts as a "roundup" resource of current info. I'm really surprised that no one out of the hundreds who are actually crazy about the event has done something like that.

Like, I notice a guy asking folks to post their rigs in the Personal Rides section (we had that info on the site one year). A site could easily have a Forum where people could post what they know to a section on Rigs, even if the rider doesn't have time.

Joshua Weinfeld called in from Silver City. He had some mechanical issues on route from Separ and heat issues. He’s getting some repairs before heading out.

Hi all.  I'm arriving in Banff tonight, staying at the Y.  Would be happy to hook up for food or drinks and some rides starting tomorrow.  Email me at ontheroad@5yetis.net or, presumably, just ask at reception at the hostel.

Check out http://tourdivide.org/.  It was down for some time, but seems to be back up.  Also, http://www.trackleaders.com/ to follow the actual event/non-event.

As for riders' individual rigs, there is a section here on bikepacking.net for personal setups, but it doesn't look like anyone's posted for a while.  There are pics of Stappy's TD Rig from 2012, which looks lean & mean, but other than that...

Billy Rice called in from the Outdoorsman to say he’s headed out. This call is cut off but he sounded like he said that he got new tires.

Nobody or anybody?  Sure, he's followed, either way.  Looks like he started at 4am today, and made it to Elkford in the standard fast-ish time of 9hrs or so.

Scott M/Trackleaders - any way to get ITT's split times to show on the leaderboard?

Paul A will get to cabin around dark - nice day on par with some of the past fastest.

Doubt he'll go further after 18 hrs on Day 1.

Nice work Paul....that 4 AM start seems nice for riding flathead pass before dark. Cool plan. I wonder if he will enjoy the comfort of Butt's Cabin, or.....

Joshua Weinfeld called in from Lake Roberts. He details an odd apparent endo. And Gunnar Fehlau called in from Butte! He’s had his knee checked out and is contemplating whether he will take some down time and continue or pull out.
