I have my passport but I think I'll go for the card. One less thing to keep dry and keep track of.

At this stage I will be back for round two! Loads of learnings and agree with the esteemed Veteran Scott - best $$ you spend will be on a PROFESSIONAL bike fitting.

A sports psychologist would be $$ well spent as well (seriously!).

Im thinking about running a fully rigid Niner One 9 RDO with SRAM X01 or XX1 setup on next years tour divide. Anyone have success with a 1x setup last year? Wish you did something differently?

TD was won on a fully rigid 1x XTR setup last year.

Booked myself into the Banff Y-Mountain Lodge yesterday, getting psyched!

Last minute knee issues kept me out of '13.  I'm hoping '14 will be my year...with much stronger knees!  At least my gear is pretty much dialed in at this point  thumbsup

Picked up the Fargo for a test ride last Thursday.... it never made it back to the shop... pretty much bought it after the first 30mins of the ride. 100% what I was looking for. Great on the long draggy rides and very capable on singletrack. Stunned.

Now I just have to pay the folks in the shop Smiley Big thanks to the gals and guy in http://www.keeppedalling.co.uk/ for trusting me to 'borrow' a brand new bike and let me ride it properly.

worst part of riding SS (34x22) for me was Idaho...god, that was murder...would have killed to have switched gears.

If 34/22 was too spinny, what happened in Idaho? Still too steep? If you were to do it over again, what would you do differently? Would you ride SS? If so, what gearing would you opt for?

Any other once and former SS TD'ers out there, care to chime in? What ratio did you ride, and would you do anything differently next time?
