If you are a south bounder, you'd be a moron not to ride Gold Dust. It's sweet trail.

So to recap, we have 2 reroutes in Canada.
1st is the Spray Lake crossing which looks doable but I don't want to be that guy that get's swept down the river. Do we have any reroute plans? Man I want to see that section too.
2nd in Elkford around Fording River Road, now onto Josephine Falls Trail.
Are we missing anything esle? Is the Flathead on or will it be the Fernie Alternate?
Eric Sime made it through the Flathead and is heading towards Elkford, so apparently it is rideable. Hopefully he will make a call-in report.

I'm assuming since the GPX file is "official", it should include the Gold Dust Trail...? That's what I assumed anyway. Just a rookie so I can't be sure, but following the track after Breckinridge, it clearly diverges from the road, (see attachment) which I would think is where the section of single track is...? I'll hope someone with more experience will chime in here...

Yep, right after you go over the top of Boreas Pass, make sure to keep your head on a swivel, b/c that singletrack comes up pretty quickly on your right.

MTB CAST
Hi, setting up some speed dial numbers... I tried MTB Cast the other day, and it worked just fine. Today, I am getting a totally different company. Is this just me or is something weird going on there....?
Obviously a few people have called in recently, so I am not sure what is up. Called twice, checked the number, same wrong result.
On a related topic.... my understanding is that the "welcome message" will contain important race info when appropriate?

There's an issue with the number and they are working on it. Strange thing is that it's intermittent. I've had several people call with different phones and most get through. Try with a land-line and see what you get. I'd like to know either reply here or email me mtbcast_at_gmail. Hopefully it will be resolved soon. Also, what cell provider are you using?

Gold dust trail was mandatory in 2013. Make sure you do not forget about it because it will sneak up on you quickly and it would suck to miss it and have to pedal back up to the pass.

Update on the voicemail: So I left a message on the "bad" voicemail line and it actually came back to me. So I dialed until I hit it again and used my pin to change the greeting. So I have 2 greetings out there but it doesn't appear it was routing to another company. They must have changed a greeting on a server that my number hits a percentage of the time. For now, it should work fine whichever is called.

Gold Dust Trail Yes you don’t want to miss the turn off-- but note that it is on the official GPS track. And last time I was in the area there was FS trail signage – Ie: this turn off should be no big deal for anyone using GPS.
And if you got this far using just cue’s it’s just one more turn among hundreds

Could you list the call in numbers here in the forum?

888-866-4491. There's just one but it may have 2 greetings with this issue. It still works the same.

TD14: Bill Peschka called in from Columbia Falls with 3 calls as he reports on snow conditions on the Whitefish Divide and at Red Meadow Lake Pass! I left these broken out since they were reporting on conditions. http://mtbcast.com/site2/category/td14/

Could make that first ford dangerous - BE CAREFUL everyone, and don't take unnecessary risks!
