Hey guys, last day jitters. having some trouble importing the Tour Divide GDMBR basemap.img into my phone. On my computer, I see the .img file in my Gaia folder, but I cannot see the same file in the same folder on my phone, and Gaia doesn't see it either. Has anyone else had some experience with this? Will Gaia not accept IMG files? And are there ways to convert the file if so? Trying to reach out to see if anyone has a solution. Thanks.
Getting stoked!

Have a good time everyone!

I'll be living off of my bike come July (doin' my recon for my project this summer), so anywhere I pedal past, is home. Maaaaybe that'll be in your area. I think y'all will be easy to spot (hungry, grungy Tour Divide bikers, usually are!)

Final words of advice: remember the mind is a most powerful tool. It can also be easily tricked, as many sophisticated things are. Reconsider when you feel too tired, or the goal seems too far away for the day. Consciously work out what are facts, and what are just your emotions taking over your logic. Depending on the distance, all mountains look either very large, or very small. This works both ways: if you're hurting, reassess if the pain isn't just in your head.

And don't lose your pump.

And make sure your backup pump works.

And remember the, "presta valve cover as a shraeder/presta adapter"

Quick question: What time is the Grand Depart in the a.m. tomorrow? And/or what time will there be a big gathering of bikes out front of the Y in Banff??

Hi. First post here after following the big 3 the last few years on this board. I'm surely in awe of this madness since the longest I can hang onto a handlebar is 24 hrs, and if I sleep on the side of the highway, the doors are locked.

I find your post particularly interesting since it never occurred to me that one of these races could actually foster a festive community scenario, as opposed to a bunch of hooligans standing out in the middle of nowhere waiting for a race to start, or crawling into the only car in the p-lot, or across the street to the lbs after they finish. So it's nice to visualize a healthy vibe at the start in Banff.

Haha. Welcome to Canada. I got the, "So, how do you think yer going to do in the race, eh?" question at customs, too.

Funnily enough, I was questioned just 2 months later, going into Canada again about my criminal record. I had a hard time remembering what they were talking about, it was so long ago.

Good luck again, too all the racers, and thank goodness to all their loved ones. I do hope to see you on the trail (spontaneously). You'll probably ask if I'm Nobo, or something Wink
