Alex.C good job man! Thanks for posting the pics! You can see the energy in that pre-race meeting.
Can't miss Billy & daughter. Have any idea if you got a shot of Jill Homer?

Yep, his 16 yr old daughter. They are under "Team Rice Burner".
That is so damn cool! Good for them. I have 3 daughters...can only pray that I do something that bold with them someday. Best of luck to them, I'll be watching Team Rice Burner now for sure!

What's up with the chick in flip-flops? Thought it was a joke at the trailhead but there she is again at Goat Creek!

It was a real treat for me to see the riders off this morning in Banff. I can only wish someday to have the strength and bravery to do something like that.
I haven't had a chance to look at my photos yet; left the trailhead and directly back to the office grind in Calgary. I'll try to post some somewhere if they're any good. And yes, I think that person with the dog (and the Bob) was racing; she at least joined in the GD. When she rode by me, the dog almost pulled her off the trail.
And a final shout out to Travis Waters, whom I met in the Y parking lot and was ready to launch on his first TD attempt.
Good luck and tailwinds to everyone on the #TD2015!
Ride on.

Pics 2/80 and 4/80 I think Jill is the one at far-far left in the black puffy. Pics 36, 37, 38 - Alice D in green jacket on the SS, crushing the punchy climb to Goat Ck TH - go girl! I'm pretty sure racers are glad this year is without the snow/sleet on day 1 like last year.

Looking at the tracker, good to see Joe of MTBCast at the Bolton Ck store, to watch racers as they pass by ... and by the looks of it, none of the lead pack of 7 to 9 riders even stopped.

Leaders have knocked of the first 78-80 miles in 5-1/4 hours, well over Elk Pass, with ~40miles somewhat downhill miles to Elkford to go ... it's fast. They are fast. Sub-9hr Elkford splits are coming.

YIKES......so much rain in the month of may here in colorado. and the trend continues....saw a brief recap on facebook today on snow conditions on all the segments of the CT. Some have the comments of impassable. I, too, hope things do melt quickly AND the rain stops

Robin B had a mechanical issue and had to back track from about mid-Spray Lakes back to Canmore. Good to see he's back on course. Sucks to have a a four hour delay on the first day!
