With numerous ITT's already rolling and the GD just around the corner it's about time for a TD15 race discussion thread!  icon_biggrin

Have fun out there racers, I'll be in the armchair at home watching the show, cheering you on, and wishing I was out there with ya!

Go, Bill, go!  Elkford on the first day is awesome!  He should be in Butts Cabin tonight.

Best of luck to all TD riders planning to head out soon.  And same to ITT'ers on course now.

Saw northbound ITTer Saul Britton wheeling through the Gila this afternoon.  Couldn't
get a picture quick enough, but these are his lone tracks about to drop into Rocky Canyon.
He looked good!

Looks like Bill Peshka made Butts Cabin - way to go Billy !

Bill's struggling (I assume!) through the connector right now.  Then just a little jaunt up Galton Pass and he's almost to the U.S.  Great riding!

Speaking of ITT's...
Bradley Wiggins just broke the hour record on the track today in London.  54.526 km in one hour, (or 33.88mph)

This has absolutely nothing to do with bikepacking, but it's a very impressive feat on a bicycle.

You're not the first to just see Saul's 'lone tracks'. In the early days of 12 & 24hr racing in Australia, way back in the mid noughties he was the gun enduro multi lap rider winning multiple national level events.... plenty others only ever saw his tracks.  Looks like he's only riding short days but covering some good ground when on the bike. Should arrive in Grants in the hour.

Looks like Ron Williams (ITT NoBo) had to turn around in Colorado.  Not familiar with that spot myself.  Snow, I'd assume?

Wishing joy, safety and the best of luck to all TDR riders.  I hope everyone can embrace the cosmic hilarity of what you're doing, can keep focused on what's around you (and what to do next), and stay right in the the experience.  Glad to see it looks like better weather for the start this year.  Roll easy.

Tiana Tallent (ITT) must have dropped something. It appears that she backtracked by several hours yesterday and then camped in the same spot 2 nights in a row.  That must have been a bummer.

Looks like our two early NoBo ladies made it over Indiana pass without *too* much issue.  I'm sure it wasn't easy, but it looks like it was only a few hours of snow slogging.  Should be considerably easier by the time GDers get there.

Good luck to all the TD2015 riders. I'll be in Banff on Friday morning to see you on your way (before heading back to the 9-5 grind in Calgary for the rest of the day). I'll be following the dots thereafter.

Ride on!
