Tiana Tallent (ITT) must have dropped something. It appears that she backtracked by several hours yesterday and then camped in the same spot 2 nights in a row. That must have been a bummer.
I'd be quite interested to know what really happened to the young lady there. Two nights at Brush Mountain Lodge wouldn't be a bummer though.

Scott McKinnon has headed off to the start line.. We left for the airport at 3:30 am... And as it was SO bloody early, well, he forgot his shorts... *sigh* he did keep saying he felt he was missing something but couldn't think what. Now we know! And he'll know around 10 am when I can get a message through to him. Over all though it's been a good week. Crossing fingers the shorts incident is the only hiccup encountered this year.
Anyway, good luck to all the racers. Please be safe out there!

Spot rentals are at the front desk of the YMCA lodge. I have tons of ProGold Extreme samplers in the assembly room. Help yourself! Also, this year's racer giveaway is going to include a Gen3 Spot and a $110 gift cert from Nuclear Sunrise Stitchworks that you can uses towards one of their great bags! Even a single call gets you into the drawing so we want to hear you call in!

Good luck td riders! After reading several books this past year I'm excited to see how things unfold with a tiny bit more route knowledge.

Woah. Just looked at the tracker list of participants. Deep, talented, fast, experienced ... dang. And the mtbcast spot is neat, too. Good luck to everyone. Have a great race.

Wondering if Saul Britton has some mechanical issues. He has taken a huge detour into Alamosa (my home town!). Hope all is well.

One by one the blue dots are going live at Trackleaders.com. A big thanks to everyone whose annual enthusiasm and efforts make this underground race such a great event; from Matt Lee and Scott Morris through to Chris Bennet and Joe Polk, and also the townships and services along the way that pull out all the stops to help people to fulfill their goals.
Good luck to everyone, and especially to all the Kiwis and Czechs riding this year.

Wishing my buddy, Larry Bennett, a relaxed delayed start. Hopefully this afternoon after a snag in an overnight UPS shipment. Stay focused Larry, great things await!!
Looks like the usual suspects have found their way near the front. This is going to be highly entertaining watching this unfold.
p.s. C'mon Elliot, get that SPOT going!!

Hello, long-time lurker here, with a question about fellow Texan, Billy Rice. He was/is signed up to ride a tandem on the SB with (I guess) his wife Lina. On the Leaderboard, I see "Billy Rice Up" (I understand the yo-yo thing - OMG) but I cannot find and active spot tracker for them now. Anyone know how they are being tracked?
Cheers, Gary

And they're OFF! It looks like as usual, the leaders are FLYING right out of the gate. Every year, there are a few of those front runners that blow themselves up on day one and a few that continue pushing an astonishing pace for the first few days (or more). Best of luck to everyone out there in that long line of dots!
