Just checked Lael's history. Looks like she hasn't taken a significant break since yesterday morning. Go Lael!!!

Cool temperatures, light wind, scent of AW in the air - only a depraved Cormac McCarthy character coming down out of the Animas Mountains could stop her now. Go young lady!

Mrs. Flyboy, not sure if you already got the info you needed. If you're coming from Tucson, Lordsburg is the closest town to AW. As far as what to do/not to do, here's my take:
Once he gets to Separ and I-10, take pictures, videos, and let him know you're there supporting him. At that point, he's going to finish so the fact that you happen to be there doesn't truly break any rules, in my opinion. You're travelling a very long way so don't wait until the finish to see him. As long as you don't give him food/water/drinks and he doesn't draft off of you, get some more pictures/videos of him on his way to AW.
Whatever you do, make sure you're at the finish in plenty of time to catch the actual finish and have your kids cheering on dad. It's a special moment that you'll all remember forever.
Thanks AndyAmick, thats all very helpful. I hadn't thought of meeting up with him along the road towards the end, so that's an excellent idea, providing it won't disqualify him. I'd hate for him to make it that far then be disqualified right at the end!

Wow. Lael. What an impressive person. Giving it a sprint to the finish but just another day in the life of big rides.

What a great way for the Bodewes brother to spend a summer vacation. An amazing job being done by these two young MEN.

From Nick's Blog: https://gypsybytrade.wordpress.com/2015/05/17/press-play-israel-alaska-and-mexico/She departed Thursday on a new bicycle for Banff, Alberta where she will intercept the Tour Divide on June 12. She’ll continue along the Great Divide route to New Mexico, touching the border of Mexico before focusing herself back towards Anchorage via plane. This was back in May so plans could have changed.

The Israeli TD headquarter (headed by Reuven Sher) following our favorite Lael in her way for six place and anew woman record. We are Lael fans since her amazing performance in the HLC (Holyland Challenge), a bikepacking event of 1400 KM with over 20000 meter climing that take place every April. Go Lael !!!!
