Tomorrow me and a friend will be hiking part of the AT! This is the first July 4th I'll be away from the computer for this amount of time for Tour Divide calls. So there will be some dark time on the call-in coverage until I return Saturday. I've had a bug to get out and do more this year so this is something I've been wanting to do it just happen to coincide with the plans my friend had. I appreciate everyone's patience!

Anyone know what's going on with Robert Orr? His dot has been stalled a mile from AW all day.

My guess would be that he turned off his spot as soon as he finished. Mr Orr will be stalled a mile from AW. for a long long time. Well, according to that blue dot anyway.

Go Zbynek! 30 miles to go and he's going to crush his target time. Awesome ride from another Czech rookie.
Congratulations.

Canceled my hike. Storming in the mountains here. Yeah, I think about the racers and realize I suck. :| Much like when I refuse to ride on a 40F day in February while the Iditarod is going on.

Who says Florida can't be a training ground for the Tour Divide? Tampa Bay-based Charlie Kemp, who is making his way across Colorado right now, got ready for the Tour Divide by racing the Florida Divide, a relatively new race with a grand depart in Februrary. This is a cool story that explains what to expect on the Florida Divide. http://tampabay.com/projects/2015/features/one-wild-ride/

Peggy Marvanova is coming up to finish in 21 days. Have any 20 year old women ridden faster? Is she the youngest female finisher?
Congratulations!

Coming back from our property near Datil, NM yesterday, we saw some riders stopped at the Pie-O-Neer cafe so we stopped in and had a brief chat with Tour Divide racers Sara Dallman from Ohio and David Wicks from New Zealand. David was on a Moots with a Rohloff setup and Sara was on a Specialized Stumpjumper (I think it was). They were in good spirits and looked strong although both complained of knee pain. What a humbling feeling just looking at these riders who have battled this far and are still going strong. We grabbed a couple of pieces of pie so as not to be complete blue dot stalkers and headed out to let them fuel up in peace. Looks like they made Silver City today and are on the downhill run to a finish. So inspiring to see.
