It's great to be able to watch the dots of two guys I've ridden with over the years, Greg May and Mike Hall. Greg is closer to what I think I'm capable off, and Mike has always been able to blow me away on the hills, and this year has been no different. Both are strong, focused riders and good guys all round. I'll be watching carefully. Hope Mike gets a spot sorted out as I know he values putting on a show for the blue dot watching community. And as a Brit, I can't help but wonder how Guy Martin is getting on. Guys an interesting character and a very strong rider. But I wish every rider out on the Divide all the best!

Anyone know if Guy Martin made the start? I can't find him on Track leaders?

#TourDivide16 Overnight and this morning: Michael Devitt and David Chirnside called in from Elkford! And Mike Hall called in from the U.S. Border! His Spot is apparently dead. http://mtbcast.com/site2/category/td16/

#TourDivide16 Mike Hall's Spot just popped on in Eureka! He was stopping there for breakfast so he must have gotten it working!

It looks like 7 riders are off-route on Fording River Rd, just after the split to the fire road above Elkford.

Just talked with Mike Hall - in Eureka. Mike wanted the word passed that the SPOT trouble appeared to be that the batteries had jostled loose from the contacts. He thinks it is fixed now. Seems in good spirits!

And once the Race is over, you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure whether the Race is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the Race, you won't be the same person who rode in. That's what the Race is all about.

Ack! Hopefully they get turned back around. Josh and Liam are closing in on Mike! Should be a fun unofficial sprint to Whitefish!

So good to see the MH dot up and moving. Looks like the top guys are all close. I saw Larry's post, but I haven't heard directly from Josh. He did take a phone, but was hoping to keep focused on riding this year so I am not sure how much I will get to talk to him from the road. I think he may call in from Eureka. I know Stein's market there is a must stop after getting out of the Flathead. Looks like everyone is moving well this morning!

Happy to see the MH dot this morning.
JK and LW record flags are live. I just turned them on. Do a full refresh of your tracker map to get them to show.
I thought it interesting that when I switched them on, LW was ahead of JK.
New 20, 25 and 30 day flags are up as well -- hopefully they are good examples that track well. They should follow the Wamsutter route and such. 30 day is the ever popular Rice Burner team.
Looks like we have 10 singlespeeders (now a category). Seems to be a race between two Dad's -- Plesko and Kevin Jacobsen.

Howdy All!
Looks like the leader riders could be arriving in Ovando, MT by tomorrow, of all things. Please know I will attempt to the best of my ability to continue with the photo posting of the riders that come through but please also know.......we're talking almost 180 riders this year!!! Things were so much simpler when it was under 100. Let me know if there is anything I can do for yah'all and I'm sure you'll tire of reading my postings before this is all over!
Carry On!!

interesting indeed as it looks like the 2 leaders are 40-45 mi ahead of JK's record pace of last year.

180 riders? Wow! I hope the gas stations along the route have stocked up big time on snack food!

This pace is astounding. I'm curious as to what the consensus of the forum is as to what is actually possible on this route. A perfect run, no weather impediments, no significant mechanicals, the top guys, 12 days? lower?

This time last year, JP was the clear leader and was setting a record pace.

Unfortunately - no - I LIKE beer! I figured that Mike was at Jax (best milkshakes on planet) and called there to pass on message - they gave phone to Mike.
